iPad-only dungeon crawling game Companions has been featured in Apple's New and Noteworthy section of the App Store and picked up a number of strong customer reviews.
A heavy workload coupled with a teething 8 month old son has resulted Simon's gaming time getting squeezed of late, but fear not, because he's made offerings at the caffeine alter to counterbalance these minor gaming distractions! For some game experiences, the iPad has struggled to provide quality content, including RPGs. This week he's been role playing on his iPad, and by role playing he means playing several RPGs on it (not standing on it dressed as an orc). So without further delay here are his iPad game musings for this week.
TMA: When the iPad first arrived on the scene many called it “just a big iPod Touch”. To which others often replied “Well, yeah!” Indeed even if in principal it IS just a big iPod Touch, the real estate of 9.7 inches is much much more comfortable to play with than that of the iPhone’s 3.5″. And it makes such games as Companions – a real-time tactical strategy/RPG game – possible.
DrawRace 2, Tiny Invaders, Join It - Jigsaw Puzzle, and Companions all reviewed for iOS platforms.
