Touch screen technology has been around for quite a while now, but only recently have they made their presence known in modern day technology devices.
As long as the screens come with some tactile buttons on the side (like the rumored Project Cafe controller and the DS) I'm cool with that.
Kinect has proved......you need buttons. I think they (MS) should "bite the bullet" and release a Wiimote/Move controller for Kinect. It would be kinda hard though after shoving "You are the controller" down everyones throats. That`s a tough one to go back on. :P
Indeed, I wouldn't be excited for a future of gaming when all we have is a device with 1 button and a fruit icon on the back for gaming...
Doubt it.. a joystick gives me a sense of direction and there is a reason why there is 2 of them in the PSV
"Touch Screens are the future of casual and mainstream gaming" That sounds better.
As long as they aren't 100 bucks per controller.... I fear that I will spend a fortune just so I can play the next super smash brothers with my friends.
if thats the case i am going to pc gaming
Hopefully this is just a phase that the casual gamers are gonig through and it doesn't stick.
don't like the screen is covered while gaming. except for board games
Only if its discrete and part of the initial package which has another primary function worth the cost.
Touch Screens don't work as real buttons and never will, you can feel a button by touching or smash the hell out of it, touch screen are for smooth touches, the more rough you treat it, the less responsible it feels/works
if i want touch screen control i will buy an iphone leave controls the way they are . plus touch screen on iphone suck anyway .big gaming companies trying to cash in on the iphones success the guy above me said it exactly right "touch screens dont work as real buttons and never will"
Problem is,touch screens are not that good for games.I don't want the future to be puzzle games and point and click only.Everything else is better with sticks and buttons. Touch screens are over rated in general.
I fine with a touch screen. Having virtual buttons is better than having no buttons at all.
