With Call of Duty: Elite you will get free MW 3 DLC

Allot of gamers think dat Call of Duty: Elite is just a new way from Activision to get more money out of the game but that is not true. If you use Call of Duty: Elite you will get all the DLC for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for free and that is something that you didn't expect

If you have to pay for Elite in the first place, it is not free DLC.

Kingsora2484d ago

It's activision, don't expect too much :P

LaChance2483d ago (Edited 2483d ago )

Well it's a bit like PS Plus and the "free" goodies you get in return ?

Sony out there for the money baby!! (lil wayne voice)

captain-obvious2483d ago (Edited 2483d ago )

and MS ?
you do know you have to pay to play your games on your internet connection
which you already pay for

paying for more than the game itself SUCKS ass
no matter what company is doing it

if i payed you to buy the game i should get everything along with it

ZombieAssassin2483d ago

I have a feeling it'll be like it is for Ps+ users, you get it free until you stop paying for the sub.

SilentNegotiator2483d ago (Edited 2483d ago )

@People relating this to PS+

Oh please, getting free new and old games, free DLC, discounts, getting about the same amount of content as you paid once for an entire year, etc....

You're going to relate that to a service that gives you things that should be free in the first place (COD Map packs AKA "Barely Modified Campaign Levels", stats, social services, etc)?

Ridiculous. Yeah, Sony is getting that money but you're getting all sorts of things in return. With Elite, they're just charging you and giving you the already over-priced map packs.

-Alpha2483d ago (Edited 2483d ago )

Except none of that is FREE until you pay the subscription fee. Same logic applies that Panda said above, but there are clearly double standards here based on who is charging for what. If you find value in PS+ then of course you will justify it. It's no different than people finding value in Elite. I get that Activision is "evil" but Bungie charges for Pro and Sony for their Plus. As long as fans like what they get, there is no real way we can bash the service, unless it affects free players. We don't even know WHAT Elite is charging for yet, so IMO we should just wait until we hear more.

A majority of what you mentioned-- stats, social services, etc. is FREE for all players.

The value one sees in PS+ is subjective-- you can calculate the savings you make in a month, but not all that content is even quality content or content you may like. Same applies for Elite, the value is dependent on the person, thus both these services tend to be for the hardcore fans.

"they're just charging you and giving you the already over-priced map packs."

1) The maps aren't overpriced-- they are $3/map, same as most other map packs in any other game.

2) If they are giving you the maps for "free" along other things within the service, why is it any different then Sony giving you "free" content within their service?

Let's at least wait until we hear what Elite is going to charge for

Joe29112483d ago (Edited 2483d ago )

Acti have gone too far on this one, this is ridiculous.

First off, stats and the social aspects of gaming should be free!

Secondly, dlc should be free!

What a f*cking joke!!!!

evrfighter12483d ago (Edited 2483d ago )

lol free DLC. If you pay for Netflix you get fre streaming

If you pay for XBL Gold you can play online for free

If you pay for PSN+ you get stuff for free

If you pay for a yearly subscription to a magazine you get 12 issues for FREE!!!

really...are people really being swayed by this?

When you go to the store and buy groceries it's free as long as you pay for them.

I got some free pizza last night. I just had to give em 10 bucks first

-Alpha2483d ago

"First off, stats and the social aspects of gaming should be free!"

They are free!!

-Access Elite through the Web, as well as via free applications for Android and iOS devices like smartphones and tablets.
-Track and share with friends in-game statistics like kill/death ratio, score-per-minute, win percentage, and more, all shown in "easy to understand" charts and infographics.
-Create custom leaderboards.
-View heat maps indicating dangerous areas in levels where players die the most.
-Upload and share videos from the game's Theater mode.
-Customize a loadout, which includes choosing weapons, attachments, and perks, and transfer it to Modern Warfare 3 via Web or mobile.
-Join groups with common interests.
-Create clans.
-Track Call of Duty career progress, beginning with Call of Duty: Black Ops.
-Be placed into groups based on interests, as designated by Facebook profile listings.

That's the free content you get, free of charge. I don't understand why people are continuing to ignore this fact.

I guess it's better than having to purchase your own ammo.

Alpha hitting the mark right there.

CynicalVision2483d ago

It's the same logic from the gamers who say things like 'Subscribe to PS+ and get free games'.

It makes me laugh sometimes.

zgoldenlionz2483d ago (Edited 2483d ago )

i understand what you're saying but 4 dollars a month for PS+and about 40-60 dollars of content a month feels pretty damn close to free.

Crazyglues2483d ago (Edited 2483d ago )

@ zgoldenlionz

and that is exactly how CEO Bobby Kotick fools you, ever since he's been running his evil empire it's had one vision, get more money by any means necessary, dirty No-problem, down right wrong - No-problem.

if you pay $5 bucks a month for Elite, lets do the math - that's $60 bucks a year... LoL

So even if MW3 had too Map packs at 15 bucks a piece that's $30 bucks a year..

(so which one do you think bobby would rather get from you)

Bobby knows that if I hit you with the price monthly it will always seem cheaper then if I tell you the full price yearly -60 bucks

Bobby also knows that people who use their credit card to pay micro payments for something tend to forget all about it, and long after they stop playing MW3 they will still be paying for it -until they finally get around to canceling their COD elite Service 2 year's later.

hell, I know people who have not played Warcraft in months but are still paying the monthly.

Now some people may find the service worth the money, nothing wrong with that, to each his own.. but I will not be giving Activision any more money..

(-but if you like it and you enjoy it, by all means buy it -Nothing wrong with that if you like monthly payments, I'm not telling you what to buy, I'm just saying it's far from free)

Ravenor2483d ago

If only the content was good on PS+, then you guys would be on to something.

-Alpha2483d ago (Edited 2483d ago )

It's still not "Free"

The comment made by Panda applies the same way here: If you have to pay for PS+ in the first place, it is not free content.

We don't know what Elite will offer for the subscription yet, but the value of these services depends both on the content and value a person sees in the service

And so it begins . . .

DoomeDx2483d ago

"That is quite a nice advantage of this and with it you can not say that Activision just thinking of money."

Also i dont trust this site. unreliable source

SilentNegotiator2483d ago (Edited 2483d ago )

"Allot of gamers think dat Call of Duty: Elite is just a new way from Activision to get more money out of the game but that is not true"

Is this guy serious? They give away DLC to a 2-installment old game in the series and that means they aren't screwing us?

Not to mention "Allot"

-Alpha2483d ago (Edited 2483d ago )

Maybe it's just me, but did you not catch the "dat"?

flankhim2483d ago

I can't believe activision dat stupid!

DLC isn't free when you pay for Elite. You'll pay more for Elite than for DLC alone.

Istanbull2483d ago

Stopped reading at the first word: "Allot"

Mr Patriot2483d ago

Also the word 'Dat' lmao

jukins2483d ago

even tho i wont even think about subscribing to "elite" I wonder if microsoft and activision will still have there arrangement

NYC_Gamer2483d ago

how is it free?you have to pay for the elite service.
