Dices game designer Gustav Halling hints the system requirements for Battlefield 3: "Hm no idea actually, not sure they are set yet! But if you can play BC2 on your PC I'm pretty sure you can play BF3(+dx10 req)" More infos inside the news!
I can play bc2 on my PC but not on high.
ok who can guess how low my base performance score is ? Ill give you a hint its shocking lol
As in Windows index? I say 7 or 1. Do you guys think, with accordance to this article, my computer will be able to handle it? (PS. I never owned BC2 on PC). Intel i7 Q 720 @ 1.60GHz 6.00 GB Memory ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 (Gaming graphics 3806 MB blah blah blah) 700GB HDD (5400RPM)
idk what index it is but if it definitly isnt that because if it was 7 that would be amazing lol. BTW to me it looks like you have great memory and i7 is great i cant say about your graphics though but seems good.
System Requirements- A working PS3 or 360. That is all you need.
LIES!!! He said you can "run" it! that means medium-low settings. If you want high-medium settings you would need a faster computer than that.
I don't believe these, isn't BF3 ditching XP? And they seem quite low specs
he said DX10 as a requirement so yeah because XP only supports DX9
these specs cant be real way too low
that's cause those are Bad Company 2's specs
the minimum requirements could be real. A person who has the minimum requirements can start up the game, but the game will look like shit and play on 10-20 fps on the lowest settings. the recommended requirements are probably higher though
Well if people want to play bf3 with the graphics seen on does videos and smooth play than get a gtx 480,570 or a 580 at least! "The demo was running on gtx580".
GTX 560 TI too? :D
Im gonna buy a 570 my 3 4000 series cards are still maxing games today and there 3 years old. 45 fps in witcher 2 on ultra without ubersampling on. Not bad at all for 3 year old cards. But im gonna go back to nivida this one time just for bf3. Saves me from buying a new powersource and bad drivers from ati and i want physx. When i build a whole new pc from the ground up. I'll probably build me another crossfire rig when the ati 7000 series comes out and give this pc to my sister.
I belive it, minimun will be enough to start the game, recommended is enough to have an ok experience, and ofcourse you need something like gtx 470, 4-8gb of ram and a newer generation of cpu to get max graphic. The trailers run on a gtx 470 i think they said somewhere.
DICE said the Fault Line trailers ran off of a single GTX 580
8gb of ram!? lol 2 is fine, 4 would be MAX. My PC has 8GB, but only because I do a lot of photo editing and run cad software, that and it was only slightly more and I figured it was worth it.
2 GB of RAM is not fine for anything these days. 4 GB minimum.
windows 7 runs on just about a gig of ram. the witcher 2/windows was using 3.25 out of 4 gb on my machine.
I'd say 4GB is the best amount. Anything more is excessive and anything less than 3 is almost not sufficient.
What's the Requirements for consoles?
Owning the fucking console....
You're joking right? Please please please tell me that was a joke...
Best answer I've ever seen :D
Can't be real. BF3 doesn't support XP
was my second though yeah. strange. maybe the BC2 specs. edit : yeah just checked, BC2 specs.
Yeah, when I saw the recommended gfx card specs I was like "huh uh, no way" lol....the XP thing just proved it.
Well, BC2 was a console port, and all console ports are high demanding and offer lower performance than they should. On the other hand, BF3's engine was developed for PC's and then scaled for consoles, so we should see a better performing and better looking game by all means. Look at Mafia 2. It's prettier than GTA4 and offers almost double the performance because it's not a port.
my 2500/580 will be fine then, good news.
Wooo! it will work! :D
Hopefully I will be able to get good settings out of my 5870. I may have to buy another though....
These specs aren't confirmed to be real? I kind of got excited for it. Oh well.
I have a 570gtx but if i dont get smooth high details then ima buy another 570gtx also
Ya those requirements would be for the lowest setting I'm sure, 512mb graphics memory? That's like console settings. I'm not worried about requirements though, they maxed it on a 580, so it's not that demanding.
I will be getting a gtx 580 i'll be ready for everything..
im getting the 570
MIne passes the recommended ( Core i5 760 Quad 2.8ghz @ 3.8Ghz, 4GB DDR3 1600, AMD 5870 1GB, 1TB worth of internal HDDs) but i doubt it will be smoother gamplay as BC2. Might just put in a 570 or 580 this time.
yeah you might want to change gpu because the hd 5870 series have low tessellation performance and since bf3 uses directx 11 to the fullest the 5870 will definitely suffer at maximum settings.
These reqs. are lower than expected, my pc will kill bf3 ^^ can't wait!!!
THOSE ARE BAD COMPANY 2 SPECS
Uh oh looks like ill be having to upgrade my HD5770 sooner than i thought.
Well I get 120fps avg in BC2 maxed out with my HD 6850 (at 1680x1050) so I think I'll be able to run BF3 on high at 60fps :P
I have not even checked system requirements for ANY in over 4 years, this game will blaze at 120-60 frames like every quality AAA game blazes it's the consoles that do not meet the system requirements...lol they will run, with TONS of jaggies (like 90% of all console games), sub-hd, only 24 players and still spike down into the low 20's with the average being 27 frames per second. in other words---unplayable New consoles have been needed for about 2 years...but now it's getting really, really bad I could not play this game on console, I wonder how many people games like this, skyrim, the witcher 2 will move to pc....I hope a lot Playing a game like this in true crisp 1080p with 8x anti aliasing and all the effects maxed while running at a silky smooth 60 frames is so far into next gen compared to a console experience...it will make your head explode It's like going from playing uncharted 2, which looks beautiful, to playing the witcher 2, which just made uncharted 2 look so old you wonder if it is a ps2 game.
I would be happy if those are really the requirements ... but seriously. That trailer we saw? You can make the game look that great with those recommended specs? No way. I mean that's awesome if it's true, but I have big doubts here.
my Radeon hd 6870 is perfectly fine, but my cpu is an AMD Phenom II X4, I might just want to move to a 6 core cpu just to be on a positive side. 16gb Ram, Windows 7 Ultimate SP1.
Most games won't use those 2 extra cores, so you will see little to no difference in games. If you want to see a noticeable difference in performance, then I recommend investing that money on a second HD6870 and a better PSU.
If there ain't DirectX 9 support, I'd be extremely disappointed and hope they'd lose sales.
If you are still gaming on Windows XP and using a dx9 video card then you should really update your Rig.
DICE said a long time ago that BF3 will NOT support XP. DX10 and DX11 ONLY. No disrespect but it's time to evolve. I loved XP as much as the next guy but Win7 kicks ass. Core i7 2500K 560ti GTX @ 1000mhz SLI 8GB DDR3 1600 I'm so ready to be blown away.
Hey, Im primarily an Xbox gamer, but think I might get this on PC for the bigger player numbers. Anyone know where I look to find out my graphcis card/how good my PCs graphics are? Cheers in Advance.
where are the ps3 fanboys to claim that the ps3 can run bf3 at the same level as pc using the power of teh cell(the most overrated cpu in the history of mankind) ? lol or the 360 fanboys to claim that the game will be best on 360 because of xbox live even though pc multilayer will support up to 64 players(3 times that of 360 and ps3).
AMD Phenom 2 X4 955BE, ATI 6870 with 4GB 1600mhz ram and a shit load of fans to keep it all cool. Wonder what my FPS will be. Hoping around 60 :D
