In the early stages of developing a new entry in Konami’s classic Castlevania franchise, Spain-based developer MercurySteam was intending to develop a full-blown remake of the first Castlevania game. They made some progress with the idea, too, but ended up scrapping the build in favor of an original entry which ended up becoming Lords of Shadow. Will we ever get to see the game as it was when it was intended to be a remake?
Contrary to other beliefs, the PC Gaming is home to many great hack and slash titles. The list will tackle them.
The history of MercuryStream's development of Metroidvania games up to Metroid Dread.
"In a sea of games inspired by Metroid and Castlevania, only one company has ever worked on both series proper."
The developer of Metroid Dread, MercurySteam, has been confirmed to currently be working with Control Publisher 505 Games on a new Action RPG project that will be released on consoles and PC. This project, known as "Project Iron", is a new third-person action RPG "set in a dark fantasy world".
OH SNAP! color me excited! Honestly think mercurysteam has some major talent, and i'm glad to finally see them get a chance at another big title since lords of shadow.
Interested because it’s an rpg but with no info at all who knows . Dread was pretty good but it’s a side scroller and totally different from a 3D action rpg game .
I somehow suspect it's going to be shown as the LoS sequel but that's just me
Super Castlevania IV is hands down my favourite.
That ending was so damn good in LOS.
I actually would have been happier with a remake of the original. I miss the way the old games played, and i do miss me a good side scrolling castlevania
I like turtles!
