HD DVD set to be "transformed" but Blu-ray is still king

SmartHouse reports:

New management technology is set to be introduced to the HD DVD player in an effort to expand the capability of the player yet despite this, Blu-ray DVD titles have outsold HD DVD titles by almost 2-to-1 in the first nine months of the year.

However analysts are predicting that new hit releases will "transform" the high-definition DVD battle score in the fourth quarter and that over the next 12 months both Blu ray and HD DVD sales will grow with HD DVD catching up to Blu ray as more HD DVD content becomes available.

(The full report includes forecasts from Home Media Research, In-Stat and Adams Media Research.)

Are they taking into account Spidey 3, Pirates 3, Simpsons Movie, Disney flicks, Die Hard, etc...?

If they are they must know something I don't because I thought this holiday blu ray would make a killing/increase the gap due to those exclusive titles.

not gunna happen anytime soon.

As for the extra content, I think they are talking about the online content that HDDVD players get via downloads, all HDDVD players include internet connections and the Disks have online content included on them, Transformers had this and it is expected to get really big over the next few months. I personally dont think it will help sales much at all.

These two alone can kill HD-DVD. Are they taking those into account?

I will wait 18 months and get it on Blu-ray with HD picture and sound. It is not proper HD if it don't have both.
