Avalanche producer Andreas Thorsen has put his confidence in Sony's reborn PSN, saying he believes the new network will outdo the competition in terms of security following the now infamous security hacks.
I'm not too sure if it can but we'll see.
I can only speak for myself but in sony i trust not microsoft not at all and nintendo do not cater to my needs at all anymore =/...sadly
kaveti6616. bubbles up my friend
I agree. I don't like the 360 because I would never support Microsoft.
@t0mmyb0y you can join me and sony as we treat kaveti6616's mom like the lowest of lows
i never have trusted any of my information on the net so its nothing against Sony and ive been doing this WAY before the network went down. if i buy something off the PSN or the net i put in my payment info then go back and delete anything that connects me. its more of a hassle but i feel more secure doing it that way OR buy a credit gift card and use that instead of my personal card
I don't trust anyone, but if there is anything I know, it is a system is designed with security in mind from scratch and it is a business management issue. You don't just patch it in later as it is an ongoing activity or install some whiz bang technology that solves your problem. Is PSN going to be more secure? I believe so and I expect so.
Some companies have great security and keep UPDATING them from there on
I agree, but it is by design from the outset. You can try and patch it up with layers and layers, but then your system is large, unwieldy, inefficient and hard to maintain (which is itself a security problem). Security by design, not an afterthought.
This will literally be like an unintended invitation for the hackers to a higher challenge.
Am sorry but Microsoft has 500x more experience then Sony when it comes to dealing with security threats and they always will.
That may be so but do these competitors have a hackers doing some sort of lame vendetta against the whole brand. No...
i am not flaming here but it did happen to Micosoft recently a hacker attacked the system so it doesnt not only happen to sony it happened to Micosoft as well.
There is a very big difference in being attacked and being compromised.
And there is a difference again between being compromised and totally pwned across 3 continents and about five different networks.
B1663r, Edit: I misunderstood what you wrote, my apologies. @MrFlibble, That's called being smart. Why not take someone with obvious talents and redirect them? You think other companies don't do that, namely Sony? Get real.
MS have been doing that even before PSN being compromised. http://www.mobilecrunch.com... http://tinyurl.com/3f5xbmu You don't tempt the masses because you can't win. You beat one down, and another two will pop up. Besides with the masses, invariably somebody will find a hole, because it is impossible to test code 100%.
i dont give a flying f@@@ what any of you 360 guys think but sony hasnt given in . Microsoft has never been hit as bad as sony they never had threats via stupid video messages or there perosnal infomation taken. If microsoft got hit this way they be sh@tting themselvs, i mean look at the past post microsoft nuture a kid that hacked them.
He hacked em? No he didn't. He tried to, and Microsoft noticed his skills. He is a young boy, who has skills and got offered a job and or training. It's a smart idea by Microsoft, Sony could have had Hotz help them.. Hell, if I'm not mistaken, I do believe Hotz 'offered' to help Sony. They refused.
Let's face it, if you're targeted, it's only a matter of time- no matter who you are.
I take it they have to say things of this nature to rouse the morale
Is Sony saying they have tried or going to try to hack Microsoft in order for their claim to be real?? Sony are imcompetent when it comes to hardware yes that is their field, when it comes to software thats Microsoft's field. Microsoft will always have better security than Sony, Microsoft is way bigger than Sony.
its not sony who said it read the article theres no reason to go over board here
At least speak some truth instead of trolling. Sony are good with hardware and Microsoft are good with software. They both have hiccups in their field (Microsoft with windows but that doesn't mean they are incompetent like Sony is not). Some people these days
Did you not even read the 1st lines? Trolling is not good for you.
stop commenting upon subjects obviously beyond your ken . And nope it's not a personal attack , just a fact , if that's how you read such a line
I love how this article spun way off subject.
XboxLive will always be better secured than PSN and thats a fact, not a personal feeling.
Have you worked on the security for xbl and PSN or something? You just seem to be so sure of yourself. Have some insider info to share?
Hmm well seein how Microsoft invests more Money in making sure Xboxlive service is up to date on its security they recently updated DVD optical drive adding more Firwalls to pirated games. they also updated Pay pal to the service so if a breach is possible everyones Credit cards and Id's are Safe. A while ago someone successfully got in to Xbox.com trying get through Xboxlive failed. Numerous phishing and hacking attempts on MW2 only to get Banned by Microsoft immediately and stopped all attempts.
Thats just from personal knowledge If I had to appreciate something about Microsoft it'll be the security and the immediate action they pursue against: Phishing attempts, influencing gameplay (cheaters) hacking attempts and piracy.
I've never had any problem with the competition
Give it a week.
maybe xD Having PS3 Issues? http://howtofixyourps3.blog...
It doesn't matter how secure your network is. The thing that matters is that you don't provoke people to attack you. There are better ways to fight piracy than suing kids. In the end, no security is secure enough if the amount of force you provoke against you is beyond your defenses.
