Uncharted Script Gone as well as Mark Wahlberg?

David O. Russell stepped down as the director for Sony's adaption of the popular video game franchise Uncharted, but now they won't use any part of Russell's script due to them hating his vision just as much as the fans of the game series. Also potential star Mark Wahlberg MAY be exiting as well.

Okay things are starting to sound good, now I think Ryan Reynolds would be a perfect drake, everyone who says Nathan Fillion, REALLY! I mean come on, he's not really a good actor to began with.

As who the directer should be I have no idea, what do you think?

NukaCola2634d ago

Watch the new ONE SHOT video featuring Eliza Dushku ny FreddyW on Youtube. The guy staring in that short would be perfect for the roll. Check it out.

Aither2634d ago

Didn't see the new freddiew video but I have to say that you're totally right. That guy would be the perfect Nathan Drake, he's got the look and character to play the part. Thumbs up for pointing out that potential. :D

LOGICWINS2634d ago (Edited 2634d ago )

Can't believe you got THAT many disagrees. Ryan Reynolds would be great for the role. He's proved himself in the past with nailing the look and swagger of Deadpool. I think he can pull of Drake easily.

Hollywood will likely pick him..or Bradley Cooper.

Btw, Fillion was great in Serenity...but I feel hes too old to play Drake.

"Ryan Reynolds is definitely not right for the part"

Seijoru2634d ago

Reynolds is a douche bag and overused

rabidpancakeburglar2634d ago

I'll list 2 reasons:

1) He looks nothing like Drake, which frankly I would find off putting.

2) His comedic style is the same in every movie he is in and although it is funny, it is not like Drakes in the game.

If this movie is going to happen then I want it to be comparable to the game.

rabidpancakeburglar2634d ago

Ryan Reynolds is definitely not right for the part, I like his acting but he will never be drake.

EliteF502634d ago

Actually, Ryan Reynolds would be perfect. And this is coming from a Nathan Fillion supporter.

Bradley Cooper would also make a great Drake.

Boody-Bandit2634d ago

Nathan Fillion
Don't know much about the guy but I googled him and he does resemble Drake. Does he have the acting chops and can he pull off Drake's swagger?

LOGICWINS2634d ago (Edited 2634d ago )

Actually, you know who would be PERFECT for the role?

Jeffrey Donovan

Watch Burn Notice and ull see why :)

EliteF50- Yeah, I like dreaming lol. But it will most likely be Ryan Reynolds or Bradly Cooper.

Kon_Artist 2634d ago

What happen to that infamous movie that was being made?

hiredhelp2634d ago

Im sorry to ask this, but i dont live in the states so im not in the loop.
Why are soo many of you against mark whalberg. ?

ATiElite2634d ago

Go Rent Max Payne and you will see why No ONE wants Marky Mark. Mark would suck at being Drake.

LOGICWINS2634d ago

^^LOL @ N4Gers trying to be film critics. Max Payne sucked because the script and director were both HORRIBLE. Yes, lets all forget that Mark Wahlberg was nominated for an Oscar for the Departed. N4G ignorance never ceases to amaze.

nolifeking2634d ago

You amaze me. Have you seen The Happening, The Other Guys, We Own the Night, The Lovely Bones ect. He's not that good, period.

LarVanian2634d ago

Being nominated for an oscar does not make an actor suitable for every role possible. Will Smith was nominated for Best Actor twice, that doesn't mean he would have been perfect for the role of Captain America.

Hellsvacancy2634d ago (Edited 2634d ago )

Marky Mark lol, he should stick to makin straight to dvd movies, i cant think of 1 film i liked with him in it

hiredhelp2634d ago

I liked him in films like four brothers, there was a film cant think title he was sniper. And the boxer. I didnt think he was too bad. No.?

lazertroy2634d ago

Ryan Reynolds you must be smoking something stronger then the person who casted Mark Wahlberg.

undercovrr2634d ago

Nathan fillion is not a good actor? Nobody is saying he's oscar worthy, but he is a great actor. Also his personality is perfect for Nathan drake. For the director, if Snyder wasn't busy with the new Superman movie, I would choose him.

Uncharted3Goty2634d ago

Sony if you need help with the script hire me i will make sure its a masterpiece who agrees heres some reason why me helping them would be good.

2. im a gamer like you guys i know what we want in a uncharted movie.
3. my script and vision would be better then David o russel

Naughty Dog2634d ago

stfu, no offence intended.

Jack-H2634d ago (Edited 2634d ago )

Couldn't have said it better myself. I also like that you sugar coated it a little. :)

Quagmire2634d ago (Edited 2634d ago )

Director: Either Peter Jackson or Stephen Spielberg

Actors: Nathan Fillion (Drake), Emily Rose (Elena), Bruce Campbell (Sully), Benjamin Bratt (Atoq Navarro)

kaveti66162634d ago

you are delirious if you think either Peter Jackson or even Spielberg would waste their time and effort on this project.

It shouldn't even be made into a film. The story of Uncharted is simply not good enough to be a good film. It's good enough to be a mediocre film.

SoapShoes2634d ago (Edited 2634d ago )

^This comment above smells foul.

I'm not even going to argue with you.

death2smoochie2634d ago (Edited 2634d ago )

While where at it, why not get Ridely Scott and Oliver Stone to Co Direct it....

Kaveti6616 is actually right because the story of Uncharted has been done many many times over...or close to it.
They would call it a rip off of Indiana Jones with a mix of Tomb Raider with a dash of Romancing the Stone and with a hint of National Treasure...all in one cake mix...not to forget a splash of The Mummy.
In other will be a mediocre movie because it has been done before in the past AND some of those movies had monstrous budgets and ILM at its helm...which this movie if made will not.
Let the disagrees begin....

ThatArtGuy2634d ago

Both of them did The Adventures of Tintin, so...

ZombieAssassin2634d ago

Your logic is flawed, by your logic any movie that resembles or has moments like another movie and isn't totally original will be a failure and that is surely not that case.

How often do we get original movies now? Everything has been done and it seems people just want to see more of the same anyways.'

That being said I don't want an Uncharted movie unless it's completely CGI and done by ND themselves...which won't ever happen.

gaden_malak2634d ago

" The story of Uncharted is simply not good enough to be a good film."

Peter Jackson was involved with Halo, the most generic story in gaming.

death2smoochie2634d ago (Edited 2634d ago )

"Your logic is flawed, by your logic any movie that resembles or has moments like another movie and isn't totally original will be a failure and that is surely not that case."

You do have a point, however with this type of genre, Uncharted the movie MUST be stellar because it will be compared to movies like Romancing the Stone, and especially Raiders of the Lost Ark franchise. And in reality it will fall short of large margins...
I can see this becoming like Allan Quartermain and the Lost City of Gold if they choose to go through with it...and that movie was terrible...

Without a decent budget and a decent lead actor and solid script, which seems to be the direction in which this project is traveling, the movie will most likely be poor.

kaveti66162634d ago

keyword there is "was."

he smartened up, I suspect.

And tintin will probably be an excellent film.

gaden_malak2634d ago

No, the deal expired.

jack_burt0n2634d ago

Fillion to star and wheedon to direct, amy to write it.

And the composer from firefly does the music for uncharted anyhow so he would be right at home.

metsgaming2634d ago

Yes they should definitely use Greg edmonson for the soundtrack. Use some of the music in the game and have him make a few new ones. Fillion would be my #2 choice, i would rather nolan north. Director wise i dont have a name that could possibly do it but the director should not be one who constantly changes camera angles to simulate action.

Tyre2634d ago (Edited 2634d ago )

@Jack Burton I totally agree, Joss Whedon is more reliable and inspired as he clearly showed with his own funded movie 'Serenity' (made by and for the fans, including himself, of Firefly). He/Fillion and Naughty Dog could work together like a charm and then it could be the 1st movie of a game done right.

MultiConsoleGamer2634d ago

Mark Wahlberg gone? Dear God lets hope so!!
