Despite it's name DiRT 3 isn't just another game in the long-running Colin McRae Rally franchise. Starting with the first in this trilogy of games in the DiRT subseries, Codemasters has put a heavy focus on the different ways cars handle on the different terrain, such as dirt, gravel, mud, grass, and- new to DiRT 3- snow. This time Codemasters has taken into consideration whether a car is a front-wheel, rear-wheel, or all-wheel drive, each of which handle differently on the various tracks you encounter. DiRT 3’s handling feels a little different right from the get go. Having just replayed DiRT 2 I expected to feel right at home in DiRT 3; this was not the case.
