ONM readers share their favourite memories of Super Mario sunshine with some concluding that it was as good as, if not better than, Galaxy
I loved Mario Sunshine! great game, they should make another
Sunshine was amazing, lets see a port on the 3DS!
great title, not as good as galaxies, but sunshine for me reminded mario 64
I really struggled with it. Luigi's Mansion, too. They were the first games I ever played that required dual analog input. As I'm saying this, I'm realizing that the Mario and Luigi games for GameCube were shooters... Odd, considering people think it lacked quality shooters...
I much preferred the music of Galaxy.
I Loved Sunshine.... Is it as good as galaxy, worse, better its really a matter of opinion. All of the Games are absolutely superb and I love them all, Mario Has never failed me and Id rather not discuss which is better
I found that Mario Sunshine was A LOT more difficult than the galaxies, sure there is the luigi's purple coin and other levels but there were some levels in sunshine that were were simply ridiculous. However, it was tons of fun and no one can deny that.
I'm currently playing Sunshine right now and while a fun game it has its flaws... Like the camera which makes difficult stars even more excruciating to get and the not so tight controls. Graphically I wasn't that impress either, having played contemporary Sunshine games like Star Fox Adventures or Metroid Prime well, it doesn't look as good. And the Mario character model is made of what? like, 5 polygons? nahhhh I'm kidding, but is very low polygon. Obviously the water effect is one of the most impressive things about the game and also the draw distance is quite good. Overall, it seems like the game wasn't fully polish which is very strange... but I'm having a lot of fun playing it!
Yeah but Mario Galaxy was so boring and not even in the same league as Mario64 so not a great comparison tbh. I got bored in about an hour and then gave away my wii, I can't speak for MG2 though which I hear is much better, I personally found Banjo and Kzooie N&B a far better attempt at a nextgen cartoony adventure game.
The camera system was too annoying and lacking for the title statement to be true. It was a good, fun game though. Galaxy is one of the best games of all time. Sunshine was just, good.
