Netflix Wants To Deliver Video Via Xbox 360, PS3

Gamasutra reports on October 23, 2007:

In its Q3 2007 call to analysts, Netflix said that it would consider delivering movies to its subscribers via internet-connected HD-DVD and Blu-ray devices, which include the Xbox 360 and PS3. It is unclear, however, whether either Microsoft or Sony would allow a competing service on their consoles, as both console makers already offers their own Internet video-on-demand services over their respective networks.

If Netflix gets into the console VOD competition, then MS and Sony will be forced to lower VOD prices in order to compete with Netflix.

Which means WE the consumers benefit.

I'd use it. I love Netflix, and the Watch it Now feature's cool and all, but I have to use my pc monitor. Watching it on the tv is all the better. They, along with Unbox through my Tivo, already open up a wide realm of VOD content.

It is only available in Korea though. I read the UK may get it too. But no plans for the US.
