NowGamer - Rockstar's latest is doing better than expected - despite reports of issues following launch.
Well i expected it to do very well. Will pick up my copy early next month.
Im going to rent it, I'm 99% sure the content they cut, because of the 360 version, will be DLC. I'll be waiting for the complete edition.
Grand theft Auto 4 took 2 years for the complete edition. Have fun waiting 2 years or maybe more.
My expectations were pretty high, so the game must be growing on trees! Maybe they thought the mystery genre wouldn't blow over well? Guess I'll be waiting awhile for the price to fall! Too many games! Just have too much on my plate and can't pick up stuff at regular price and then have it sit there in the plastic collecting dust till the game is bargain binned and I'm finally ready to play it. One day I will get around to Wipeout HD that I downloaded 1-1/2 years ago, then re-downloaded after a YLOD and haven't played yet!
This is a genre that's definitely under-nourished. It's (kinda) thriving on PC but it's still niche. This is one reason I believe Heavy Rain did so well, people love a good murder mystery/investigation game and when you add gameplay mechanics as innovative as L.A. Noire people go crazy for it.
I picked it up earlier today.. Disappointed to say the least. I have only myself to blame though 'cause I knew I wouldn't like it. L.A Noire is a bit like marmite, some like it, some don't.
Atleast you gave it a go instead of writing sh1t about it when you haven't got it, like a lot of 'members' of n4g say.
Double post :/
not going to be the red dead of this year sales and GOTY contender. Sorry but the back half is loaded plus is a 90 meta average and you need like 95 or higher to be GOTY that is how it has been
Of course it'll sell good they are using the Rockstar name just to get them extra sales, not that LA Noire is a bad game...infact it looks like it could be one of the best this year but sadly we all know they are just using the R* name to sell it.
Rockstar helped work on the game. It wasn't just Team Bondi. In fact, 6 Rockstar Studios helped make this game. Rockstar NYC, Rockstar North, Rockstar Leeds, Rockstar San Diego, Rockstar New England, and Rockstar Lincoln. So no, they're not just using the Rockstar name to sell this game. It's a Rockstar Game.
Uhh the lead guy at Team Bondi said in an interview that R* didn't really do anything and that a majority of the work was already done...i believe all R* did was bring in expensive tech to polish the game up. And still you know that they are using the R* name to sell it....even if they helped a bit it's still really a Team Bondi game with a majority of the work done while it was still being published by Sony but we all know R* brings people in like drones.
And how long ago was that? Look in the back of you're game manual. It shows all the Rockstar Studios that helped, and what exactly they did. If Rockstar didn't help make the game, it wouldn't feel like a Rockstar game. Especially considering it uses a different engine from GTA IV and RDR.
Whatever the studio head of Team Bondi came right out and said R* didn't do much...surely not enough to were it should be advertised as a R* developed game. Besides my whole point was they are using the R* name to sell it, not in one single commercial did I even hear them mention it was made by team bondi all I heard is coming from R* games. Go ahead and defend it all you want you know it's true.
i will wait till the price drops, maybe for $29.99
I bought the game on release date. I think it's great so far, but to be honest, I'm only on case 2 (since I'm trying to finish up Dungeon Hunter Alliance). My only gripe so far, is the really weird car controls. I don't know... it just feels so sensitive compared to Mafia 2/GTA 4, etc.
