Today’s PSN antics are a whole lot of phooey

SG: Oh, Hail Mary! Sony’s cocked up again. The PSN has been hacked, the security sucks and we’re all going to die. But it isn’t so. We’ve all been the victims of something I’m going to name, with some very technical and hard-to-explain terms, “Bad Journalism”. Sounds complicated, right? But no, “Bad Journalism” refers to the concept that some writing is set to inform in the worst ways possible.

Even if an account were hijacked what could actually be done with the PSN store down?

I agree there has been some curious reporting. What I find funniest about this article is that its coming from SG. Listening to their podcasts and articles over the past weeks makes this one feel pretty hypocritical.

VERY NICE ARTICLE HERE IS WHAT I THINK OF THIS WHOLE THING:

through this whole 3-4 weeks of psn down every site has done its share of blaming sony not the hackers. you all should listen to EPC here is the link:

http://www.gametrailers.com...

The week before they were blaming sony and all this week two of the three came to their senses to finally admit through this whole thing that as much as we want to blame sony they are also the victims.

I am pretty sure they would not want their network down for bad press, giving gamers free stuff, taking care of devs who's products were due during psn was down.

AND IGN HAS DONE MORE BASHING OF SONY THAN ANY OTHER.

there were THE REPORTS OF SONY HAVING OUTDATED SECURITY SOFTWARE AND EVERY SITE REPORTED THAT THAN WHEN IT WAS ACTUALLY CONFIRMED WE FOUND OUT SONY HAD UP TO DATE SECURITY SOFTWARE. All these RUMOR ARTICLES need to make sure they say that its a rumor but most sites were just looking for HITS.

ALSO PSN IS SUPPOSE TO BE BACK BY NEXT TUESDAY ATLEAST THAT'S WHAT I READ: AND TO CATCH UP SONY WILL UPDATE IT TWICE A WEEK HERE IS THEIR STATEMENT:

One question posed simply stated: "The PlayStation Store hasn't updated since April 19th. When can I download digital games that were planned to be released since then?"

The answer should make PlayStation 3 and PSP gamers smile. "To catch up on the large amount of [games that missed their launch windows due to the PSN outage], we'll be publishing to the PlayStation Store multiple times per week once commerce functionality is restored."

SO HAPPY GAMING AND HOPEFULLY THIS WILL BE PUT BEHIND US BY A STRONG E3 AFTER PSN STORE IS BACK IN 3-4 WEEKS WE ALL PRETTY MUCH FORGET ABOUT THIS AND MOVE ON.

BUT DON'T EXPECT SONY TO MOVE ON EXPECT THEIR SYSTEMS TO HAVE SUPER SECURITY 24HRS A DAY AND EXPECT A UPDATE EVERY MONTH FOR 15-20SECONDS

I had to put an Xbot in his place today who has been non stop posting BS Kotaku links on his FB ever since this sh*t with psn started. Kotaku has seriously mislead with a lot of their PSN articles lately.

And in defense of Sony not shutting down psn or alerting the public sooner. I think they tried at first to catch the hackers in the process by keeping the network up for a bit. know what i mean? And when that didn't work they shut it down, hired those security firms and alerted the public. Now the PR thing i will agree they fucked up. But PR is mainly BS and fluff to begin with and geared towards public perception AKA "the dumb masses".

But on second thought; Who am I to defend a Multi-billion dollar company anyway. silly me. I don't even have a job right now. That said, I still don't think they handled it as horribly as the media makes it seem.
