Some initial impressions on the good and bad of L.A. Noire.
LA Noire for me personally, it's a bit of a let down. I wish it was open world and you did missions as you found them or chose to accept. it's also a very slow mission process, so if you like it on the medium to fast side, you'll go crazy with this one. I'm not a ps3 kinda person who may enjoy hours upon hours of video and this game has it, over 8 hrs. to be exact. It's very seemless and realistic to watch certain scenes unfold but the game is too scripted as to what and when your going to do something. I'll give it a couple more days then it's back to gamestop to trade it in for RAGE pre order.
I feel like the game is missing something as well. It is sad really, it feels like a tech demo.
Rockstar put a little bit too much of their own signature into this game. Side missions are trivial as always. Driving, shooting, fighting all feel like GTA. I'm sick of it. The investigation is really fun though and make LA Noire a good game.
I disagree. It doesnt feel remotely close to a GTA game at all, which is a bad thing for this big of a game since almost everything felt empty. I wish they made it smaller since i expected too much.
well your missing the point of the game, its all about the investigation if your disappointed you should have got hyped up for the Driving, shooting, fighting
It feels like a beta for an even better game later in the year. Check my comment history for my long list of complaints about the game. I also dont understand the high reviews the game is getting... meh
again missing the point of the game
Why in the hell would you want this game to be like GTA? There's so many games like GTA already. Innovative is what we need in the gaming industry, and L.A Noire does just that. You should be appreciating what L.A Noire is, and not down playing it because of something it's not. I guess change is something people can't easily grasp when it comes to video games.
I'm not wanting it to be a GTA game but the scope of the game makes it lacking. The game feels empty.
It feels quite deep, but I am having trouble interogating ppl..
The game shouldn't feel like GTA or anything similar because that's not what it's trying/supposed to do. It's real problem is the impression of depth it tries to show. Many moments seem to be full of choice and variety, but that's nothing but an illusion. The game isn't bad, it's just not the amazing experience I hope for--much like my experience with Heavy Rain.
