A robbery at the GameStop on Cobb Parkway South in Marietta, Georgia left the store manger dead. A man apparently entered the store around closing time, waited for the last of the customers to leave, and then pulled a gun.
Often times we make fun of these game store clerks, but now I just feel bad about it.
I hope that police catch that son of a bit#h
MY condolences to the family
soo some hardcore gamer nerd was robbing the store for video games?
dont ppl usually rob for money?
this is sad.. I hope they catch the robber
would have planned well beforehand and bought a system at launch of the console. This is just plain sick practice of a purchase.

I just saw the title of it. Then again, that (money) is obligatory too since he's robbing the store I guess.
but put his ass on death row. Bring back the chair for this bastard!
I too hope they catch the son of a a b*tch.
My condolences and sympathy to the victim's family.
I was down there at the Marietta store the other day. That sucks. When I was a kid Marietta was a nice place now that I'm 21 its went to hell.I guess I can blame that on my drug dealing generation though. Its like in Friday when Craig's dad says "we wouldn't have moved here if we knew you needed a gun to walk down the damn street" its the truth these days, theres multiple murders, robberies, and rapes every night in the Atlanta area alone.Sad.
all of a sudden its real news 4 gamers
sad sad sad, hopefully they get that guy, show him that this is real life and not some video game fantasy world he lives in...
THE RObber knew MASS EFFECT is only a month away he could not Wait any longer =).
That's just wrong man.
Have some respect.
Thanks for showing some maturity.
Grow the hell up Mesh.
Mass Effect is out in November, no way Gamestop has Mass Effect yet. Not even they get it that early.
If anything, I think was stealing Ratchet & Clank Future.
lets give a standing ovation to the funny guy.
you know there is no single tread that goes without a kid like you writing stupid things like this.
mesh truly disgustin comment nothin more to say on that.heart goes out to the family.
atleast he waited till all the customers left. I wouldn't want to walk into a gamestop and then have someone bust a cap on my ass.
But you can get shot at a redlight in Atlanta.
You can get shot at a red light anywhere. I've spent 25 years of my life driving through downtown Atlanta and nothing has ever happened. Unless you go to somewhere like MLK Boulevard you aren't even going to see a mugging let alone get mugged yourself.
MLK Blvd. is where I was referring to. And even if I don't see it in person I still watch Fox 5 and read the AJC. Crime is straight up on the rise. But I would be more afraid of getting shot by a cop in Dekalb.
Thats really sad...
I hope they catch that SOB
Hopefully the robber gets the death penalty. This is a wake up call to realize that outside of the console(s) that us gamers indulge in, there is a cruel reality outside those doors that we all must be careful in. My condolences go out to the gentleman's family and my prayers will be with them.
This is another issue that Jack Thompson probably will be pouncing on. Another news story I dont want to read regarding his name.
They better find this guy and take him to jail where he will have a taste of all the sauseges around the jail block !
This is so not called for i mean people dont think what so ever rubbin and killin for what, My heart goes out to the homie that lost his life for nothing. 360 owners, PS3 owners , and WII owners lets just prey for this young homie and hope they catch this dingo berry. Respect and stop beefin on bought my Ps3 is better than your 360 lets come together for this one time at least.
Bubbles for you dude. I definately agree. All the console arguments need to be set aside for just a moment and at least show the gratification of a honest, hard working employee who lost his life over something out of his control and over the juvenile acts of a thug.
Reading this thread will really show where the maturity and mindstate of some of our regular posters on this site. Anyone who shows that they do have some compassion for others and leaves a mature response will DEFINATELY get bubbles and agrees from me.
Immature comments will get minus bubbles, disagrees and get reported as spam.
This hit home for me (like down the block).Bubbles.
GUNS DONT KILL PEOPLE......PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE
guns makes it so much easier, so I kind of disagree here.
I agree, guns do not kill people......people kill people.....and the thing is, if we had to give up our right to bear arms (talking to American's) crime like this would go way up! Yet so many people are hell bent on taking them away......anyways, this is sad, that guy didn't deserve this. I hope they catch that douchebag hope he gets death row.
That guy was just trying to make it out in the world, the honest way. I feel sorry for his family, my condolences go out to them all.
@13.1 I disagree with you, heres why. Guns don't make it easier, really, if you are going to kill a person you will do it gun or no gun.
You know that on 9/11 the hijackers held those hostages with box cutters......I mean think about that for a minute. A blade kills just as easily, and though you may argue you need more skill to do so with a blade that isn't true. you need skill with a firearm too. We all play games here, it is very different when you fire a real weapon, theres recoil, smoke, it's very loud. You can miss your target very easily. Surprisingly you can make that same mistake with a shotgun, if you don't know how to fire it properly. Sure yeah having a gun can make it easier if you proficient with that weapon, some crooks are, but in general most people aren't. I have extensive firearms training, I live with a cop. Sometimes I miss my target. I've only been in one firefight, when I was a security guard it happened so fast, it really f*** with your senses, and no I wasn't able to shoot the guy, I fired back but he was about 20 yards from me and it was dark, plus I had some debris in my eye. It is very important to let people know, because police officers say it all the time, and don't bash them anyone. They know how this sh!t is they are the ones who keep us safer. They say all the time that we never need to have our right to own firearms taken away form us, because when/if there is ever a time to protect your family what would you do? you would shoot them, but if you had no gun, because it was against the law to own one....what would you do? cops can only get to our location ever so quickly, those seconds do count, when they aren't there yet.
YOU MY FRIEND GET BUBBLES
I don't know what you normally post green ghost, but that was absolutely great, don't know how you only have 2 bubbles. Lets boost that up a bit.
Usually you don't think of game stores getting robbed. You think of robbers wanting money, not games.
You seen this now also, people wanting to rob game stores. They might be an easy target or something. Everyone who wants to rob a game store gets away with it.
shouldn't he be making some stupid asinine comment over this?
Also... maybe it was a disgruntled gamestop customer that was sick and tired of going into the store to check out new games only to see that the 360, PS3 and Wii kiosks are all turned off and the MGR's refused to turn them or keep them on.
or maybe he's a freaking idiot and will most def get what's coming to him.
Said news otherwise, Georgia has always been pretty good at catching these guys.
May his soul rest in peace.
This sucks I'm a Gamestop Manager and ive been through a robbery and it f*ckin sucks, my heart goes out to him and his family.
People make fun of Gamestore Clerks bc they think were nerdy or rude but now you see the kind of idiots we deal with all day, Scam artists, Stolen Credit Cards, Thieves and Killers cut us a break.
I like GameStop employees. They always set me right when it comes to buying and trade-ins. One even returned my cell phone to me after I lost it during the Halo3 launch. You can tell GameStop people really like and know about games.
My heart goes out to his family and friends. He was killed because he had enough passion for gaming that he wanted to help others enjoy it. Such a waste.
May you rest in peace kind sir.
As for the bastard who did this: I hope the police shoot and kill you before you can take away another innocent life from us. You deserve a special place in hell and I hope you get your ass sent there very soon.
The insanity! And what? The guy will most likely blame it on violent games, so that his crocodile tears gets him sympathy. The world is SICK...just freakin evil and twisted!
"No, please...it wasn't me! It was all that GTA3, Eminem, and...Matrix"
That's too true, I mean people now will blame anything on something other than the real problem at hand, it's almost like they are too lazy to find the truth in it all. I blame guns, I blame video games, I blame music and movies. When really it isn't any of those things, there are people who just aren't there. They have issues.
fvck lambs, i'm silencin em all
I'm involved in murders forenzic science couldn't solve
Giant set of [email protected] might as well unzip my fly and let em fall
to the floor
each thought's completely warped
im like a walkin talkin oujia (say"weegee")board

-lyrics to Eminem/D-12'song entitled "American Psycho"
I really hope justice will prevail, I hope all Gamers and Non-Gamers pray for him and his family.
May he rest in peace, 21 yrs old so young and gone from this world so fast.
If the killer does not get caught in this world, there will always be another world he will end up.
Well said Bubbles for you
I didn't use a gun tho didn't need to :D
You still suck.
WOW, I bet Jesus is beating his ass in halo right now...
He should have had a bubble shield!
You should have been shot, not the store clerk.
Your a freakin dumbass man, no you really are.
Geez, kids these days...
Anyone posting a joke is a c**ksucker.
Mesh you r a P.O.F.S.
My condolences go out to the friends and family of the employee.
this sux for the general gamer.
props rushbd, mad props
I live 2 miles from this store. I was there the other day. I chill there with some of the guys and I remember Mat. I can't believe this. I hope they find this A**hole and throw him under the jail.
Other than the job of police officer, which job category would you say is most often subject to homicide in the United States? Postal worker? Private detective? Bounty hunter? Abortion clinic staff? Liquor store workers? By far the most dangerous job in the United States is, and has been for years, that of those who work in convenience stores at night
when i worked in a shop we were robbed 18 times in two years
Wow when i read this all i could think of was how this is affecting his family. I mean because i have a little brother whos now 18 months old and just the thought of loseing him makes me tear up. And this is just more proof of how are world is sick and twisted and that no matter what we do its still goin down the drain. One thing thuough i hope is that they catch this SOB and if they dont he will have a front row seat with Lucifer himself in the end. Heart goes to the family and friends. God rest his soul
My condolences go out to his family and all those affected by this senseless act of violence.his stupid a** lawyer will probly claim it was video games that made him do it.This a**hole needs the CHAIR!
Wow that is sad, I visit this store too, I have been in this toilet of a place for about 8 months due to job relocation from NC. I hate it. Atlanta and it's suburbs is a complete toilet of a place. Can't wait to get back to NC ASAP.
