CAUSE AFTER 10 MONTHS MY XBOX 360 FINALLY PACKED IT IN AND GOT THE RED RING OF DEATH. AND EITHER I HAVE TO PAY 180 BUCKS TO FIX IT OR 400 BUCKS FOR A BRAND NEW ONE. SO DOES ANYONE HAVE 180 BUCKS THEY CAN LEND ME, CAUSE I DONT AND I NEED IT, OR MY NEXT-GEN XBOX 360 VIDEO GAMING EXPERIENCE HAS JUST ENDED. PLEASE
Burnout 3 Yeah! Now how about Burnout 2?
Hyperbear, i'm sorry to hear that, but don't shout it out, the Sony droids will bash you to high heavens for this comment. I've had mine for 7 months now, so i wonder when mine will pack up (i use it alot)!!! I got it on January 26th 2006.
Thank you for ur comment, and i actually tallied it up from when i got mine till it dies today, and seeing is how u got urs on Jan 26, if the same life span for mine occurs with yours, youve got till November 8, 2006 until itll die. This is just a hypothetical guess i took, but maybe you were one of the lucky 2 million that got a console that doesnt break down. And if it does, dont bother phoning tech support or 1-800-4My-XBOX, cause they dont help worth sh!t and all they tell you is, oh well that'll be 130 bucks to fix or were sorry. But yea, anyways ive got school, hockey and a job so, I wont be playing much Xbox anyways, so ill just keep the machine and sell all my accessories. Unless you want it. LOL xD
Hyperbear, if you really own a 360 and not be a funny Sony fanboy, know this. In Europe we get 2 years warranty, repair or new one. In USA one can buy that warranty with it. For others: it's always safe to have a period of 2 years, with any electronic device. Furthermore, this is something you can try and I know from a couple of persons that they succeeded. Well maybe there is hope. One guy has talked a lot to the employee of MS over phone. Now they gave him a 50% discount already. So it's 65 dollars. And he managed to have also a chef in control to call him back and got it for free. So negotiating pays off probably! If you want to play really nasty just should all sorts of bullcrap at them that you're going to sue them and want to speak to the boss and you'll write to the newspaper and make national news blahblah. Tends to work, they'll just give you discount to get rid of you. Try it, it works
I won mine in a contest, and it didnt come with a warranty, and i talked to them for like an hour times 3 times i called them, and they kept telling me the same stuff over and over, try this, try that, and if it doesnt work, we will be gladly to take 130 bucks away from you no problem. Jeez, nice service.
THey won't take 130 and don't repair I guess.
well, it's a shame you don't live in the UK Hyperbear. We get 1 year warantee, plus another year if we buy the extra. Your xbox isn't guaranteed to break down after 10 months, alot of 360s had faulty cooling at launch, so you only get problems when more complex games get released that make the cores run hotter. But after the repair, you'll probably never need it repaired again, you get an updated cooling system and a quieter disk drive. Honestly, argue the repair cost, get it cut down, and buy it, it's worth it. And my advice, never settle for a 6 month warantee, if it's not a year, always buy extra.
