The Point Of No Return

In early video games, there was one goal: to push forward. The reward was getting to the end and finishing the game. That’s what video games were all about, that’s why people played them. Nobody ever thought about enjoying their time through the game, checking out the scenery, exploring, or doing side quests, mainly because games encouraged gamers to beat the clock, the graphics weren’t much to look at, and there were no cool places to go or side quests to beat.
