The detail on the cars seems on par (perhaps a little better, haven't looked at them side-by-side) with what PGR4 and Forza2 have been putting out this gen, but I'm most impressed with how the light interacts with the camera and the environment... makes everything seems more natural when in motion.

I can't wait to play the full game after it's polished even further.

Are shocking. The Leather textures/The Plastic screens/The LCD screens/Tachometer/Speedometer detail is so fine, you dont realize how the little things like stitching and subtle textures really tie it all together..

PLUS the lighting inside is just plain real. Like driving around the trees cast shadows on the interior of the car.. its just amazing.

In fact it is so real that when you hit someone 200kmh nothing happeneds......

And what does Ramming into things have to do with the Lighting/Shaders/Detail/Scale of the game?

Take Microsoft Flight for example, you dont BLOW UP when you hit the ground, you bounce off. Or the Sim Ends. Its an option. The point of a simulation is to simulate\emulate the experience. Which GT5 does flawlessly. The fact that I can drive my g35 on a road course, know the feel of the car, the point/speed at to which I break traction, the sound, the optimal shift points, and the weight. To Pick up GT-HD and feel the exact same responses (outside of sound) in the digital doppelganger is impressive.

Couldn't I say the same to you, as in when you hit a wall at 230mph in forza, you bounce off walls and other cars.. instead of exploding in a fiery crash?

GT5 is about the Cars, not about the damage. Although to please some damage mongers, I'm not one of them. Polyphony is working on it for the final release as an update after the game is released.

Gran Turismo is the best selling console driving game franchise in the galaxy. A house built on No damage.

GT5 is about driving and feeling a car. Appreciating the rules of the track, and the rules of passing. If you have ever driven on a road course, you would know this. You dont SLAM into other cars to gain position. If you are doing this, you are doing something wrong, you aren't a skilled driver. Loadup Burnout or Dirt if you want to wreck your car, but when you want to play a game where skill is important. Gran Turismo is that game.

edit: @ joking.

Oh didn't know, GT is my favorite game of all time. Its the only reason I ever bought playstations. I just hate when people compare it to arcade racers.

Calm down dude, i was just joking. I think my sentence ended up being really funny :)

I agree with what you said, but that doesn't mean i wouldn't like to have some kind of damage in GT5....but if i remember correctly there is going to be in full GT5 game.
