Namco Bandai released a direct-feed debut trailer for Soulcalibur V.
Cant wait- but they must remember to innovate if they want the Series to stay strong.
oh sh*t! lets see if a new SoulCal can top the fun i'm having with the new MK! def need to innovate though for sure
:/ couldn't see the trailer here, had to hunt it down an ended up watching it off GameStop. Is it just me or does it look like Knightmare Destroys Seigfrieds sword and a new Soul Blade is born? Knightmares had that dragon eye one it in SCIV but now it has a face on it too. Sophitias son looks lame/generic. I have a feeling they're gonna have a real story mode from the look of the guy. Not just fight with short intros in between but something more in-depth.
They don't need to innovate much, just refine. Use the singleplayer from SC3 Add a ton more options to customization Thats all I want.
Yeah, I can see where youre coming from. But they already said that its going to be different SCIV- they said its giong to be the equivlent of when Soul Edge Changed to Soul Calibur.
The new hero looks like a cross between Siegfried and Sophitia. I do hope this Soul Calibur gives a new life to the series, because, just like Tekken, it needs to renew itself.
The thing over on Joystiq about teh games reveal said that Namcobandai said the new character is Sophitia's son but didn't explain a dad or anything(i'm not to big into the lore of the series so don't know much about it) I'm just hoping they do alot more this time around. SCIV was pretty good but had alot of glaring issues. I would like for them to focus alot more on the character creation mode. Make it ALOT more flexible and make it so you can create you own fighting style(or at least have some that are not the same as the already existing characters) One of the best parts about SCIV was going online and seeing the characters people had created for themselves and making it alot deeper will add to that. Also a story mode that doesn't seem tacked on would be nice as well. The series has alot of potential but I can't help but feel that with the exception of the character creator the game hasn't at all changed since the 2nd and that's really not good in this day and age.
no ivy in video. :( edit: the trailer was good, but I am not getting Soul Calibur V for the story...
What bouncy bits? :P
