Mass Effect 3 Offers Less Companions, But Deeper Relationships

PCG has word on the characters of the upcoming final of the Mass Effect trilogy. (Mass Effect 3, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

Not sure how I feel about this. It's not like the previous games had a huge, impersonal cast. Why not just make the game longer so as to keep a good number of companions and flesh them all out?

I think that's a wise choice. Less characters means a more focused story. I think one of the only knocks I had against ME2 was the way the story unfolded at times. It was very jumbled in it's delivery.

Ditto. ME2's story was "too busy" -- too many characters pulling things in different directions. It made things unfocused.

It was a character recruitment game with a dab of main story. I mean there were like 3 or 4 missions that actually were part of the main story and the rest were just about the characters.

I don't mind that but more story would be nice. AND CONSEQUENCES THAT MATTER.

Very jumbled and very short, the main story that is.

I dunno what to think of this. Well, a few companions with deep relations are better than an entire crew you know little about..
Just wish they had the crew size of ME2 and deeper relations for them all..xD

As long as it means a more story driven game I'm ok with it.

M2 is one of my fav games this gen, but no matter how much I like M2, I felt it lost story focus and the game was all about recruiting, doing loyalty missions and fighting the human reaper.

Although in someways the game play in M2 was better than M1, M1 had a much better story than M2. M2 lost it's focus in way.

I'm happy with the change as long as they provide enough variety. I also believe that this game will have more Samara/Morinth decision moments. I'm expecting to see one between Legion and Tali. Probably another between Miranda and Jack.

As long as they include Garrus , Liara and Miranda i'll be more than happy. I'd also like to see Legion join the team for those that recruited him , made for some great banter in the party.

Couldn't agree more with that list! Miranda also has a clone sister....Having two Mirandas in this game would be awesome.

i think it was a good call by bioware. i could see some of those me2 squad mates that would be missing in me3 be returned in dlc. miranda has her side-story involving her father that wasn't resolved in me2 for example.

Sounds good to me, thats what I prefer.
