Tomb Raider Anniversary Review (Xbox 360) 4/5

As if to underline the designers' appreciation for the brilliance of the original game, here we see the same team revisit that original 1996 game, re-clothing it in the textures and models of Tomb Raider: Legend in a loving remake of one of gaming's classics. What immediately stands out today is the original game's memorable level design. Much of the game is exactly how it appeared in the original with the shapes and geometry of rooms and caves immediately recognisable to those who played and loved it. However, the game engine powering Anniversary is a very different beast and it's in developer Crystal Dynamics' marrying of these elements (the new control scheme and engine with the old level design and environments) that the game finds its assured success. (Tomb Raider: Anniversary, Xbox 360) 4/5
