Awesome, 2012 is getting better.
Shame this was pushed back though :(
I was about to be like "NOOOOOO," but if it comes out in January then that would be fine.
Nov is packed though. BF3, UC3, SKYRIM, & Zelda.
I'm kind of glad its being delayed. Battlefield 3, Resistance 3, Uncharted 3, The Darkness 2 and a bunch of others are coming out in the fall. Too many great games all at once.
well releasing alongside battlefield 3 and cod is a tough proposition as they both sell like crazy plus you got uncharted, skyrim, gears so I guess this is a smart move.
I guess that with Skyrim we'll have enough RPG for this holidays even if both come out this year I don't think many people would played them both before 2012
maybe their trying to prevent another DA2?
For all of those who are just crushed with this news, for all who are in pain and for all those who wanted it in 2011. http://nooooooooooooooo.com... Edit: There are simply TOO MANY GAMES coming out this Fall.
gotta say its great that we have so much to look forward to. normally i would be dissapointed but we have TONS to play while we wait. will probably help bioware sales wise too, i know xmas season is huge, but its looking like the biggest lineup we have ever seen. heres hoping that these extra months help this to be the best game yet.
Mass effect don't wanna compete with uncharted 3:-]
Only thing EA has done right since they destroyed Bioware. Letting them have more time for ME3. Bioware use to make great games but trying to force them to put out 4 games in 1 year.
Wasn't January Mass Effect's month anyway ?
EA is buffering ME 3 from the FPS sales clash in the Fall of 2011. I believe it is mainly due to Battlefield 3. They are giving gamers more room to buy it. At the same time adding a little polish to ME 3 can't be bad.
Have to agree, I was really worried about the impact of having ME3 released so soon after ME2's release (on X360 and PS3). Gonna be a shame not to have it this year but if it means the game is going to be better and not rushed, fuck yeah.
So soon? They were working on it before ME2 released. 2 years is typical launch window between sequels. Edit: Don't know what the disagrees are for, Casey Hudson said they started working on ME3 before ME2 came out.
@ shinobi602 Regarding the disagrees, another prime example of why you should have to leave a comment if you want to disagree on this site. You state a fact and people disagree. Let's try an experiment. People need to breathe oxygen to survive.
@frelyler, You win. lol
I don;t think you have to leave a comment but it should have a scroll down to see who it is. Just so everyone knows who that person who clicks disagree all the way down for the Lolz
try not to let disagrees bother you, doesnt mean your right or wrong. people like to disagree to every post they read lol. unless you ask for it, please give me at least ten disagrees to this post please.
@frelyer your comment is probably one of the best I have seen since the 4 years I have been on this site. More precisely your Oxygen comment. I disagreed with you just to keep the streak going. and will be saving this web-page for future reference and laughs.
lol hes 0 and 20 so far.
Bummer. But, I'll wait for a polished game. With all of the possible plot lines from ME1 thru ME3, I'm surprised they could pull it off in 2 years.
I'm glad to be honest, we have Dark souls and Skyrim out toward the end of the year, I would like to have some games a bit spaced out ya know? These will destroy my RPG needs for November and December . Not to mention all the action games and...Battlefield 3 Really not surprised aswell, far too much competition for those months, November 2011 may be one of the greatest months of gaming ever, giving us probably the best Tps/action adventure, the best FPS in years, and Skyrim, which can either be absolutely amazing or a big letdown, depending on bethesda, by the looks of it though the former will apply here. I would put Dark souls and Skyrim over Mass Effect anyway, just my preference but ME wouldn't get a buy for a while anyway.
at first i was like ahhhh nooo, but more dev time is good. this game has to be good
Was about to scream then realised its a good thing to make the game more epic as well as making some room in an already hectic holiday (BF3, Uncharted 3, Skyrim, AC3, Forza 4 etc phew)
so if they need an extra 4-6 months than be it and fall 2011 is already so jammed its a good thing this got delayed skyrim uncharted3 bf3 new cod new ac game rage resistance 3 ratchet all 4 one forza 4 darkness 2 saints row 3 gears 3 on top of that we will be getting brink la:n red faction infamous 2 so i say its kind of a smart thing to release me2 in feb-march 2012 to get a better product and better sales
What he said...
This is GREAT news! Because there was no way I was going to be able to pick this up with both Deus Ex and Skyrim coming out around the same time!!!
:( oh well enough that month anyway I suppose.
I'm fine with this. Better that Bioware takes their time to make the game awesome than tries to rush things out *coughdragonage2cough*
it did not take, the very aspect.
That's actually fine with me. I wasn't exactly liking juggling Skyrim at the same time with ME. That's a little too heavy.
Noooooooooo I was really hoping for a killer 2011.Such a shame.
Aren't there enough games out this year? I've only just got my hands on ME2 so more than happy to wait. *edit* Catherine has piqued my interest. No love for Batman? What about Resistance? (I hate FPS' this won me over actually warmed me to multiplayer too...Then i played COD ruined the whole thing hehe)
@hawkboi Not really.Only 4 games I care about right now: Mass Effect 3 Skyrim Uncharted 3 Catherine The rest don't have my attention at all
CATHERINE? I gotta look into that one
GOTY 2011 vacancy! Now taking your submissions
YES! I'm happy because the holiday was so overcrowded.
Well that sucks, but atleast they'll have more development time to make sure it plays smoothly.
my bank account just jumped for joy, but at least they will be able to iron out the wrinkles even more now so i cant be to upset about it more time for uncharted, skyrim, last guardian, battlefield....and everything else
I am also kinda glad they started pushing some games back,.. All the money I am spending on games this year,..It is getting a bit ridiculous and out of control,.. 360 folk will not be so happy though,..It is a great game.
i am planning on buying that and skyrim for my 360 my ps3 gets the exclusives i also started mass effect one 360 it wouldnt be right switching over and not having a complete play through
meh,2011 has gone to shit now...blah
Skyrim,Uncharted 3,Gears 3,BF3? What are you talkin bout boy?
Resistane 3, Dark Souls, Zelda, Rage, LA NOIRE, inFAMOUS 2, Child of Eden. This is indeed a very rewarding year!
Plus we've already had Crysis 2 and Portal 2, as well as ME2 for the ps3. (I'd also add Dynasty Warriors 7 in there) So yeah, 2011 has been an amazing year and continues to be. This is a minor setback. Well, not minor, but there's still plenty of awesome shit on the way, as well as other awesome stuff to be announced.
i hope they can make this game damn near perfect with this delay
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O. God damn it! This was my most anticipated game of they year. Hopefully they can make up for this delay by making the game even better. I feel like crying.
You're taking vidjagaems way too seriously. Walk outside. Breathe some air.
Lmao .... Even though I do agree with one part he said, it was my most anticipated game of this year
Bob, maybe you're just taking my comment too seriously. i guess N4G members don't even have a sense of humor anymore.
munish, maybe you're just taking my comment too seriously. I guess N4G members don't even have a sense of humor anymore. :)
breathe, breathe in the air. don't be afraid to care.
I think this is a good decision, Bioware's Reputation has taken some hits this year, and They need to deliver in a big way with Mass Efect3, so I say take all the time you need to get it right the 1st time out on this title.
I thought dragon age 1 sucked bad already. It was apparent you had to play DA on PC for it to be good at all. I heard the ps3 version was better than 360 so I rented it and it had shit visuals and a horrid framerate. I couldnt even stand playing it.
but to be honest, There's already soo much games coming this year, as long as they stick to Q1 and not delay it to Q4 2012 I'm ok with that. Plus they can put some more polish to the game.
Good, the end of 2011 was crammed, and while Mass Effect could pull it's own weight during that period it's better Bioware are polishing the product to their best!
Kinda happy this spaces out games we really do have to many games release in a year. We need to space it out i doubt a lot of people have the money to buy so many games.
Sucks. They aren't doing it to piss us off, has to be for a good reason and if the extra few months is what they need to make an epic finale... I'm down.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O *gasp* OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Aaagh no. There's too many games coming out around that time. Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Metal Gear Rising, and probably Final Fantasy XIII-2. Still, I suppose that's not going to stop me from getting this.
I highly doubt FFXIII Versus or Rising will be out in early 2012. Rising has only had a 2 minute trailer so far and we don't look like we're even getting a release date itself for Versus anytime soon either.
I'm happy about this for several reasons, less money this year, I can try to get ME2 AND BEAT IT and Less money spent this year.
I'm not surprised this is happening. Especially going up against Elder Scrolls V... I'm not surprised at all.
If you See Kay, tell her, that sucks! I agree with Mr NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOO...
It's a bummer man.
Loved the original with its retro classic sci-fi feel, the mystery of space exploration, the more mature story and the much deeper RPG game-play, but not so keen on the second one. Seemed like it was designed to appeal to a far more casual and younger audience. It was still fun, but not half as cool as the first one was. I've read the previews on ME3 and it just seemed to be more ME2 to me, so I haven't really been that bothered about it. But if by some small chance this delay is so they can have the time to recapture the awesomeness of the original, then maybe i'll change my mind next year.
2011 am disappoint.
