good news

Yeah saints row is a terrible series that shamelessly ripps of GTA without adding any new ideas of their own. Im surprised they were not sued.

Wow, have you actually PLAYED Saint's Row? Do yourself a favor. Go grab a copy of Saint's Row 2. Play through it. Now try to play GTA4.

Other than being a sandbox gangster game, they have a LOT of their own ideas. Not only that, but SR2 knows it's a game and pokes fun at itself a lot. I had a LOT more fun with SR2 than GTA4.

@trikster40 if your gonna compare gta and saints row atleast include the older gta's since gta4 is nothing like the older ones

Clearly
Snyder never played the game. the pimpin, the whole click/crew/, non lock on targeting, customizing to the extreame. better open ended story

@TwistyTrev - If by "GTA4 is nothing like the older ones" means not as good, you're right. If anything, GTA4 LOST things from the other ones. Other than that, name one thing different it did. Oh wait, a few missions where you could pick sides.

Well just as long there bot cancelling Saints Row the Third.

I think this is all down to how much bad reception Red Faction: Battlegrounds received and have decided to give it the slip. The reviews weren't all that great and i don't think hardly anyone bought it.

Still am glad it still on the way to the 3DS so all is not lost.

I Think They Are Focusing On Saints Row The Third More So They Decided To Not Make It For Consoles As It Will Make Their Team Lose Focus On SR3

really did anyone even think this had a chance at being good?!
Venox2008  +   1548d ago
But isn't "the third" and "drive- by" different games? one for X/Ps3 and other for 3DS?
JohnApocalypse  +   1548d ago
This is probably caused by the poor reviews of that XBLA/PSN Red faction game

This scared my for a sec. At first glance I thought the article was about Saints Row the third.

Wonder what happened to that PSP Saint's Row they said they were developing. Most likely got canned as well since the PSP is pretty much dead.

I wasn't even aware they were working on another game aside from Saints Row 3 so this doesn't really matter to me...Saints Row is awesome.

Saints Row 1 was out 2 years before the last GTA so I don't see how people can say it ripped off anything from GTA IV.
