The voice of Modern Warfare 2's Ghost has dropped strong hints that the series' next instalment will be announced this month - possibly within the week.
colour me unexcited
I'll just put this right here: I predict dedicated servers exclusively for 360
what he said
most likely they(activision) will w8 to E3 for the big announcement, best way to get the game known beside mass advertisement.
Battlefield 3 will destroy this
Whilst you're most likely right, I don't agree with passing judgement before knowing the facts. We haven't seen Modern Warfare 3, I'm sure when we do we'll have our confirmation that Battlefield is the victor, but we can't be 100% sure...
Hopefully due to Battlefield 3 showing itself in all it's glory, Sledgehammer can keep strong to there word and develop a (Worthy) 95+ Scoring game. I haven't got a Call of Duty game since the original Modern Warfare, of which was great, I played each of the following titles and the only one I found decent was the second Modern Warfare, it had a decent FPS story and wasn't afraid to take risks ("No Russian" and killing off Roach and Ghost). But in complete honesty I don't see the need for a prequel, I would prefer Activision to do the decent thing and realise the franchise is beyond being milked and have a sequel to end the story of Soap and Price. Also, hopefully Activision won't take new gameplay mechanics out of the game to save them for a future title. This franchise has lost my respect. Black Ops was a terrible game, shamelessly mimicking elements of plots from films such as Deer Hunter. The gameplay had hardly progressed and the graphics were a step back. Hopefully the combination of 3 Companies can have a positive effect on the game. But in all honesty, to get gamers such as myself to purchase, it needs to evolve and live up to some unbelievably high standards from other Shooters...
Modern Warfare 2 did not have a decent storyline and "No Russian" was just a desperate plee for attention that added nothing to the game.
And someone should care of your opinion because? If he says it had a decent storyline then it had a decent one in his eyes. And "No Russian" was a little disturbing to play even though I was noob tubing 'dem Rushkies :D
"No Russian" had the player walking alongside Makarov, with no choice but to watch (or participate) as he mow's down civilians in an Airport, (a location of which many of us can relate to being in) as if he was to fire at them, he would be killed. In Modern Warfare 2, Infinity Ward weren't afraid to kill off playable characters and characters we'd become attached to and admired. It was a story of betrayal throughout. If you consider that beneath "decent", fine, but as much as I despise Call of Duty, I give credit to Infinity for having balls.
heared that befor.. im still waiting
why another mw...they should call it madden warfare cause is out every year, next year will have lag ops 2
did you come up with that clever word play yourself?
mw3 best game of 2011, easy
Same shit, same people will buy it. Good thing BF3 is coming out this year. Only shooter besides UC3 that I will probably be getting.
If all those other amazing games get advertised a ton for the less-involved casuals, I think Call of Duty may have a tough time fighting this year. Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3, and Mass Effect 3 all in the same month? Not to mention Gears 3 and Resistance 3 right before. On another note: Holy fuck, what's with all the 3's? But my point still stands. It'd be completely understandable if Modern Warfare 3 (again, another 3) gets lost in the wave of games.
We all know a new COD is coming this year so why is this news?
I rather play with soft garbage. let me guess?.. guy has gun. guy kills lots of guys with guns? good guys vs bad guys military based shooter number one thousand and something. (Call of duty) modern redundant combat. 4sheep.
BF3 fans sure love to post comments about CoD articles =) Although I've asked many times and still have no answer as to what huge innovations the battlefield series has made? Just as guilty of rinse and repeat as CoD is. I don't know why you want MORE tweaks than what CoD has done in the past 4 iterations (perks, killstreaks, wager matchs, theatre mode, etc, etc). And they should both be awesome fun again, so i don't see where the hate comes from. I'm pretty sure they were ready for a reveal last week but didn't want to get clouded by the PSN hack news.
When was Modern Warfare 2 announced or Black Ops? Is it taking them a long time to anounce, and show anything for this game or is it just me?
