Everybody Plays: Crysis 2 Review

Everybody Plays: Crysis 2 certainly gets off with a bang. With mood lighting illuminating the bowels of a submarine, the game begins with a troop of marines being briefed on what may lay ahead. Something’s going on on the surface, and as part of their ranks, it’s up to you to sort it out. No one really knows what’s wrong – there seems to be some sort of disagreement even between the troops - and you’re even more clueless than they are. Suddenly, there’s an explosion (as is always the way) and the sub starts sinking. You need to escape. (Crysis 2, PC, PS3, Xbox 360) 6/10

i thought it was a great game but the characters felt kinda stiff.

no way is this game a 6/10

Maybe for the multiplayer.

MP is awesome. 6/10 would be extremely low for a multiplayer score.

Multiplayer is broken the hit detection is terrible, spawning is ridiculous, and it's unbalanced. Singleplayer is pretty okay, but the multiplayer is an absolute turd made of fail and aids.

This is not a 6/10 game...
It's easily an 8/10 if not higher.

He keeps complaining (again and again) that you're no superman, yet I found one of the main faults with the game was that its too easy. Between stealth and armour you can turn on at will I felt like the game was in God Mode.

The only real challenge came from the ridiculous checkpoint spacings.

PS
6 is way too low, the game is a high 8 or low 9 in my book, but still, I'm glad he's acknowledging its not perfect. I think this game has been a bit overrated in the press. Still very good though.

My favourite bit, dismount a .50cal and sneaking around with it, only to blast someone in the face pointblank.

The SP for me is a 8.5/10 until the grain glitch kicks in and then I'm just too obsessed with how bad the game looks to enjoy it so it becomes a 5/10.

The MP ranges depending on lag from 8.5/10 to 5/10.

So, currently I'd give the game a 5/10 with the potential of being 8.5/10 but seeing how slow Crytek is to fix it, I'll probably just trade it in for one of the many more exciting games that are coming out soon.
