Five Games Affected Most by PSN Downtime

With the recent downtime for the Playstation Network, lonely gamers have been out of luck for their daily dose of gaming. Of course, there are games that have a great single-player experience, but with the recent advances gaming has made, online multiplayer has been more integral than ever to the gaming experience. How will gamers cope with the loss of social interaction via video games? Here are five games that took the hit the hardest. (Call of Duty: Black Ops, Industry, LittleBigPlanet 2, PlayStation Home, Portal 2, PS3, Super Street Fighter IV, Tag Invalid)

Playstation home isn't a game and why put super street fighter instead of mortal kombat considering that it's just out?
SolidStoner  +   1676d ago
those lists are not put together by real gamers, just some random journalists.

Home and Street Fighter should not be in the list 100%!
thebudgetgamer  +   1676d ago
why not there are millions of people that use home, i understand it's not technically a game but i'm sure those people miss it.
BLACKBOIJONES  +   1676d ago
I miss COD Black ops online :(
Commander_TK  +   1676d ago
I miss COD4 online.

This is why it is preferable to have more than one system.

Having a PC and an Xbox 360 I can honestly say that this PSN outage hasn't affected me as much as it otherwise would have.

The fact that this article even got written is bogus. 77 million credit cards & identities stolen and journalists decide to focus on which games are being affected? Forget about the games, think of the people losing $cash$ thanks to sony's mess. In my eyes, these journalists are just lookin for webpage hits.

"77 million credit cards & identities stolen"

There could not be much more wrong with that statement

Socom 4.....should be #1 on the list....even with the bias reviews out there....the game is amazing. I have played the hell out of the singleplayer campaign and missions while the PSN has been under maintenance...Highly underrated game. Ironically enough, one of the best reviews for it came from none other than the video review here:

Its a list based off of opinion of course. My top 5 are...

LittleBigPlanet 2
Portal 2
Mortal Kombat
Killzone 3
InFamous 2 beta

in no particular order
Bnet343  +   1676d ago
Portal 2 is a big one because I've heard from others about it. I got friends on Live who were getting it on the PS3 but got it on the 360 for the online.

If you're paying to play that, do they still charge you for PSN being down? If so, that's a dick move.
koehler83  +   1676d ago
I think I enjoyed Portal 2 co-op more in split-screen.
WowReally  +   1676d ago
What a bullshit list.

Mortal Kombat

That's it.

possibly Motorstorm Apocalypse if PSN inst up by May 3, but I don't think SONY is dumb enough to keep PSN off that long.

Wait. I hear this constantly...."we want offline op" Portal 2 has it and yet no one cares. Even when they cant play online. lol
Dojan123  +   1676d ago
Sucks for Valve. I am sure they were thinking they would get new users to Steam from the console ranks by now.
MysticStrummer  +   1676d ago
My personal list - MAG, SOCOM 4, Portal 2, Free Realms, and Uncharted 2. Home also, but that's not a game.

This list of games is based on the definition of a casual gamer.
Mr Tretton  +   1676d ago
lmao, got 'trolling' for mentioning Killzone 3.
Daves  +   1676d ago
Naa, Portal and Red River. Both games are new, have co-op and have not been able to be played on-line/co-op since launch.

That list is pretty crappy.
dead_eye  +   1676d ago

Can't think of any more at the moment but these are most affected as their are online only games.
P_Bomb  +   1676d ago
Yeah, online only games (Warhawk, MAG, Socom Confrontation, Free Realms, Battlefield 1943, Modern Combat: Domination etc) are toast.

Then there are the Capcom DRM games like Final Fight Double Impact & Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 which won't even load unless you're logged into PSN.

DC Universe takes the cake cuz it has no offline mode and the online is pay-to-play on top of that.

dat was a dumb list. i think the 5 games dat were affected were
Killzone 3, Little Big Planet 2, Socom 4, Battlefield 2, n Black Ops
ian72  +   1676d ago
I've been wanting to try Crysis 2 multi-player. Been playing single player and when I got round to trying out multi-player the network got switched off.
No rush though, I want Sony to get the PSN sorted right, and I've plenty of other games to play while waiting.
GamingBuzz  +   1670d ago
DC Universe Online should of been on this list & probably most important for the simple fact that you pay $15 a month and its online only.
