NowGamer: “L.A. Noire will be outrageous!" said Jesse Divnich at EEDAR, "I don’t expect it to do Red Dead Redemption numbers, but certainly expect sales to handsomely surpass 5 million units worldwide in the first year, making it a top 1% title.”
Wow... um... Don't exactly know what to say about that. I mean I suppose they could be right, because: 1. It's up against Brink, another one of this years possible GOTY's 2. It's not fully developed by Rockstar, so it may put people at bay a little bit 3. It's Team Bondi's first game, too 4. Not everybody is impressed with the animation... 5. Took too long to make 6. Some people think it's just a Mafia II spoof.
It's none of those reasons though IMO. People just don't know anything about this game and it's a shame. Hopefully Rockstar will start promoting it in the coming weeks. Let's see if they pull off the "from the creators of gta" trick/lie they did so successfully with RDR.
I mean, so what? Let each game be their own beast. It's nothing like Read Dead. Does the general media not know anything else that's good out there in the gaming world? (not just talking about this article)
They've been advertising on all the good channels on the west coast. Every playoff game and most Comedy Central shows are full of L.A. Noire commercials, complete with the "Only on PS3" label.
I need to see some actual "game play" trailers before I make up my mind one way or the other.
GTA4 was mega crap
There is no way in hell Brink is a possible GOTY. I'm gonna call it an average 80 right here and now.
Agreed completely. Another month, another shooter.
L.A Noire is one of the few games that i'm interested in playing this year along with Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3 and Infamous 2.
Team Bondi is a new name, many of the people were a part of developing "The Getaway" before being acquired by Rockstar. It may not be all over the internet, but I've seen plenty of ads on TV and Hulu. btw, Brink is criminally underrated, and will be bashed by the console crowd, no doubt. Its really not competing with LA.Noire, although it will be for me. Enemy Territory: Mirror's Edge ftw.
Guys, I said they could be right. I never said they were right.
I'm even more excited for L.A Noire than i was for Red Dead Redemption. From what was shown so far i truly think its a very strong GOTY contender.
i had and have ZERO interest in RDR, LA noire on the other hand is just bring something different enough to peak my interest
i think this is true, i mean rdr is just like any gta game somehow,,
red dead revolver? or red dead redemption? lol
Only one of them is on-topic.
All I say is so what. Not a GTA game let the game ride see how it does. If you like being a detective You like solving crimes this for you,
That's why I'm not going to buy it. Red Dead was completely GTA in the old west. Sure, there was some missions where you had to play "cowboy" and round up cattle, which was completely boring(obviously my opinion.) But that was a small part of the game. This looks like I will be playing "detective" the majority of the game.
I've never really cared for R* GAMES. This could be fun though. I heard random crimes happen which you can show up to for more action
Red Dead was nothing like any GTA game. I don't get why people keep on comparing the two. Besides following there stapled sandbox story driven gameplay both franchise have there own identity.
for some people open world + guns + any form of transport = GTA anyway, im hyped for LA noire and hope it does well
I like watching CSI and my girlfriend does also. Who do you think is asking me if its out yet almost every day?!
Lol my ex is a csi fan. And lost
It also really depends on how well its advertised.
It's in common rotation on Hulu. I know that much.
I donno... Red Dead was amazing... but L.A. looks like an awome game too... I think that L.A. will sale a lot anyways.. Don't worry Rockstar you'll get your checks! :)
this game will sale around 3-5 million copies.
People are not interested in this game, i know there is something to be said for trying something new but the detective work in Heavy Rain was only marginally intertsing and thats because you got to use a futuristic glove and glasses paired with virtual reality. But this, this is just Mafia with some detective work and generally if it looks boring it probably is.
lol, you dont play a sorry-ass gangster in this game!! you play as a detective... its alot of difference between being good or bad. i think this game will sell good, probably because the game looks engaging and believeable... the animations are kick ass too!!! :)
"if it looks boring it probably is" you sound ignorant, so you probably are.
If you're going to try and attempt to condescend to someone, try and use some wit. You sound like an idiot, which you definitely are.
Said it before and I'll say it again. Stupid analysts are stupid.
I agree with the analysts on this one...I think it'll do around 2 million on both PS3 and 360. Even though there's some action in L.A. Noire, the majority of it's gameplay (Crime Solving and Interrogation) seems to be a bit more niche in comparison to most big games this year and there's No Multiplayer. I watch quite a bit reality crime shows like "The First 48" on A&E so I'm looking forward to getting L.A. Noire and playing a game that's similar to those TV programs I like to watch.
I dont think it will sell better than RDR, but Rockstar didnt even think they were gonna sell RDR as much as they did, they didnt think it was gonna be such a huge hit, so we can never know
that doesn't mean it wont be as good as RDR
oh god.. people need to stop listening to Analysts.. These same Analysts last year claimed Red Dead wouldnt resonate with people and would flop.
WOW and this is news why?????? I couldn't care less what this game sells bc i'm buying it day 1!!!!!!
I'm gonna buy it so they have at least sold one copy, I like games with stories about killers, heavy rain was very interesting I expect the same immersion from this
Analyst DON'T KNOW SHIT
Hmm I believe L.A. Noire IMHO will sell maybe a bit less than Red Dead Redemption but who really knows. The only thing that I dislike about L.A. Noire is that it's missing a multiplayer mode but even so it's a must buy for me.
The only real sway affect is no multiplayer. Other than that the numbers will still be high and profitable.
i know ill enjoy this much more than read dead. =D im really excited for this!
Well, these "analysts" said the same thing about RDR last year.Nobody expected it to sell nearly 10 million units, especially "analysts".
