Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata did make it abundantly clear that buttons will remain on any controller designed by Nintendo for their next generation console, to be revealed at E3 in June.
Not surprising, although I guess you never know with Nintendo.
let all the motion stuff be optional
I absolutely agree
I think it should be there but not be the main attraction. Games that will use it to their advantage should definitely have it as an option, but devs shouldn't think they have to shoe-horn it onto everything they ship. It should be an advantage, not a hindrance.
fantastic you need buttons for gaming
Buttons...and candies, yay! isaygoodday!
As long as its kept optional, I see no issue.
After seeing the failure of Kinect, Nintendo decided to keep buttons.
... I don't think they ever said they wanted to get rid of buttons, pretty poor attempt at stealth trolling.
"Nintendo isn't planning on completely ditching buttons, nor is Nintendo thinking of taking tablets as they are today and implementing them in a game console." I like this quote... very subtly suggesting touch screen on the controller is possible
That is refreshing to see. A company that isn't completely focussing on a redundantly backward control method i.e. no buttons. Thank f*ck Nintendo and Sony aren't focussing on that nonsense. Much respect Nintendo.
