Portal 2's Commentary Stands Out When It Shouldn't

Sinan Kubba writes, "Game commentaries – at least ones similar to those by Valve – are focused affairs that relate to specific things within the game. While they may take a little more co-ordination than a DVD commentary, it can’t be that hard to take notes of where you’d want to dump a commentary bubble and then record a brief segment on something you wanted to share with fans. Also, they add to a replay of game without imposing upon it, whereas a DVD commentary necessarily replaces the program’s audio. Maybe it is gamer fanboyism, but I think game commentaries just work better."

I tried several of the earlier puzzles in portal 2 with commentary. The commentary is easily the worst in any Valve game I've played. Either overly technical or just boring.
