Microsoft willfully infringed on the patents of a small Michigan company and engaged in litigation misconduct in its effort to defend itself, a federal judge ruled Friday...
Does anybody really care? This doesnt affect the 360 in anyway. If it was sony I could see this as a big deal for all the previous reports of monetary woes from the company but its microsoft and 25 million is nothing to them.
no. that was $25 million in addition to the $115 million they had to pay a couple of years ago, for a total of $140 million. $140 million may not be much to Bill Gates, but to Microsoft it's still a noticable loss. and why would this be a big deal if it were Sony, but not for Microsoft? if a judge feels that Microsoft says this, "z4 Technologies is a small and irrelevant company that was not worthy of Microsoft's time and attention, even if Microsoft was potentially infringing its patents," then it IS a big deal. it just goes to show that Microsoft can be just as money hungry, arrogant, manipulative and methodical as Sony could ever be.
I meant it wasnt a big deal financially for microsoft is the richest company in the world. It would be a big deal for son for there have been many articles on the possibility of sony going bankrupt due to all the money poured into cell and their stocks goin down etc.
Microsoft is NOT the richest company in the world. it just so happens to employ two of the richest PEOPLE in the world, but it is not the richest company. Walmart, Sony, Dell, Ford Motors, Exxon Mobil, Citigroup, Hewlett-Packard, these are just a few of the company whose over-all revenue exceeds Microsoft's on an annual basis.
I would think that 25 millon is a big deal, even to a company like microsoft. I wouldn't think any company would want to give 25 millon away, but hey that just my opinion.
when it`s sony it`s hahahahah but when it`s microsoft it`s more like uuumm nahh nuttin really compared to what microsoft has..please u take who for fools..money lost is money lost..
no sony fanboy. It would be a big deal for sony for sony doesnt make as much money as does microsoft and their have been many reports of sony constantly losing money: lawsuits, cell, stocks goin down etc.
if u didnt care u wouldn't post, now ur going against ur saying, and microsoft earns 70 million a year so it is a big deal.
um no actually they profit in the bllions annually.
so does Sony, despite what internet rumors may say to the contrary.
but nowhere near as much as microsoft.
Its attack of the fanboys. lol
SONY MAKE JUST AS MUCH MONEY AS MICROSOFT. MICROSOFT JUST HAS ONE DICTATOR THAT MAKES ALL THE MONEY. SO IT JUST SEEM THAT MICRSOFT MAKE TONS MORE MONEY THAN ANY OTHER COMPANY.
Sony's annual revenue for the year 2006 was in the neighborhood of $64 billion. by comparison Microsoft's revenue for the year of 2005 was around $40 billion--i'm quite sure this year will be less, with Vista, 360 etc. to consider. so Sony does generate more money annually than Microsoft. however, given losses generated by R&E for Cell, Blu-ray and PS3, as well as the fact that Sony employ's over twice as many people as Micrsoft, their actual income was less than Microsoft's. still, no matter how you look at it, $140 million is a loss, for either corp.
I need a link because I could have read microsofts revenue at the end of their fiscal year (as of June 30th 2006) was around 12 billion and sonys was 4 billion so I need a link.
try wikipedia. here's Sony's: http://en.wikipedia.org/wik... and here's Microsoft's: http://en.wikipedia.org/wik... as you can see, Sony generated more revenue, but didn't earn as much profit, just like i said.
I need to see who made more profit for I am pretty sure that is microsoft however you were right in terms of sales.
It's a patent infringement case about product activation software, that's why I'm not caring that much. It has no relation to the Xbox or 360. Sony's lawsuit with Immersion is interesting because it does have a direct relationship with the console. And the battery recall is interesting because people were injured and products caught fire. But the bottom line is that large companies are in court all the time.
Go for it,hit the F*ckers where it hurts in the wallet.M$ suck and should be takin to the cleaners.
M$ is Dropping the 360, cause it blows..!@# Bring them to there knees!@# (vista ftw) :)
Im amazed at the fact that this is a 100% Microsoft story yet, Sony gets brought into it?
