Exclusives Put PS3 Ahead This Week: Portal 2, Mortal Kombat, SOCOM 4

From G4TV.com: "Gamers who own both a PS3 and an Xbox 360 normally have a tough decision to make when buying multiplatform videogames each Tuesday. But from first access to Call of Duty: Black Ops DLC to an exclusive Homefront map, Xbox 360 has been lining up the perks for its core gamers and making the decision a one-way street. Not this week, however. PlayStation 3 has swept this atypical Tuesday with exclusive features, exclusive content and an exclusive game."

The story is too old to be commented.

If only PSN weren't down...

It is ironic that PSN will be down on a weekend that XBL is free.

Urmomlol2618d ago

Wow, G4, poking fanboys much?

-Alpha2618d ago (Edited 2618d ago )

I don't see the big deal.

They are reporting on the week's content, all of which had the PS3 involved in some capacity. It makes for a consistent theme when doing the writeup.

If Russell Brand stars in three of the 5 movies releasing this week, a headline would naturally involve him in the headline as the main theme to an otherwise typical review of the latest movies

Fanboys don't need poking. They seem to think they are being poked all the time.

There is nothing here intentionally inciting fanboys. If someone is getting worked up over something as tame as this, it says more about the reader than the author.

EDIT: Wrong reply button. Meant to post this as a reply to Urmomlol.

I have no idea what you're saying. Wins again? what again? at what?

@Alpha-Male
That's very good point.
It wouldn't matter either way as long as it makes sense.

Achemki2618d ago (Edited 2618d ago )

@B1663
You don't need online to access the exclusive Kratos & 3D in Mortal Kombat, Socom is a full game with a SP campaign (remember those?), and the free code for a Portal 2 PC/Mac download means you can still play the game.

Your "defeat from the jaws of victory" spin makes no sense. How does a free XBL weekend benefit the 20 mil' that already pay for Gold?! PSN will still have Steam for Portal come Monday. 2 days < forever.

How is stating fact being a fanboy?

Boody-Bandit2618d ago (Edited 2618d ago )

The entire gaming media is a joke when it comes to sensationalist headlines but it's the only way sites can get hits these days.

Other than that it is not a bad article.

bobrea2618d ago (Edited 2618d ago )

Portal 2 and Mortal Kombat aren't even exclusive. I'm actually surprised that g4 would make an article as childish as this.

Edit. I realize that they mean exclusive content, but saying this article doesn't seem a bit flame bait-ish is a little silly.

Exclusive content: Steam features and Kratos

kesvalk2618d ago

not enough to say it that way...

MrBeatdown2618d ago (Edited 2618d ago )

What's childish? That G4 figured that people don't automatically assume "exclusives" means "exclusive games"?

It's basic reading comprehension. They shouldn't have to spell out "exclusive content and an exclusive game" when "exclusives" is adequate.

EDIT:

@bobrea

That's "around here". Everywhere else, the basics of reading comprehension still apply. The article should be written for those who can read, not those that need their hand held in order to be kept from getting wound up.

bobrea2618d ago

Not when the word "exclusive" around here is MAINLY used to refer to games. And with an article title like the one they have, it just seems like flamebait. I know that they meant exclusive content.

DigitalRaptor2618d ago (Edited 2618d ago )

What???? G4 doesn't write articles just for the crowd here on N4G. They do it for the whole internet when they publish.

Who cares if people on here take the term "exclusive" to mean games? N4G is one website and one community. The article here is factual and informative. The "flamebait" is only being suggested by those who are bitter.
