IGN - Should The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Jump to Wii 2?

IGN - Last time Nintendo announced a new home console, the GameCube's last great game jumped ship. Do you want a repeat? (Next-Gen, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Wii)

No I don't think so. I want a ground up Zelda title for the Wii 2 not a port. Skyward sword will do just fine playing in My normal Wii 1.

Agreed.
Wii's successor will launch in 2012, and Skyward Sword in November 2011.... Big difference.

Also if Nintendo doesn't keep its promise of Pikmin 3 coming to Wii, I will never buy another Nintendo console again.... ever.

lol should? if there really is a wii 2 it will. they'll probably do the same thing they did with twilight princess. delay, delay so it can come out with the wii 2.

I doubt they will do the same thing. The Gamecube and Wii had the similar performance so a port job was easy. The Wii 2 is supposedly as strong or stronger than the x360 and PS3 so a port will not be as easy and will require time.

^ This.

Porting Twilight Princess to the Wii made sense. Porting Skyward Sword to the new console won't.

If Nintendo's new console really is more powerful that the 360/PS4, they are going to want launch titles that really show this off. Slapping HD on a Wii game and then holding it back another year after its completion is only going to irritate customers and make the console look underwhelming at launch.

Doing it with Twilight Princess ultimately reflected poorly on both the game and the platform. It should have been better. It should have been Skyward Sword.

While I would love an HD Zelda game, I want it built from the ground up to take advantage of whatever new hardware Nintendo is bringing to bear. That's what will motivate me to grab new hardware. Not a half-assed Wii port equivalent of a PS3 HD Collection. (Which notably sell for $40 and include 2-3 games)

not exclusively on wii2, no
but there should be a hd version of it for the new console

It's not a question of should, but when.

You can't launch a new system without games.
