Should Nintendo Stick to Motion Control for Wii HD?

Since the story broke from Game Informer about the announcement of a new Nintendo home console (codename: Project Cafe), the internet has been flooding with speculation. While hopes of improvement of the system’s online and graphics capabilities are a major concern in many gamers' minds, I am more interested in what the controller is going to be like. (Next-Gen, Tag Invalid, Wii)

They should [and probably will] offer both a standard gamepad and a motion controller, just like they did with the Wii.

Except this time, unlike the Classic controller, have it packaged into the system and have it be wireless.

I really dislike motion gaming (at least until they make practical games). I love Nintendo and miss the old days of the N64 and Gamecube. The only reason I didn't buy the Wii was because it has motion controls, and if the successor continues this trend, I will continue to ignore Nintendo until they realize gamers want a standard gamepad.

" I will continue to ignore Nintendo until they realize gamers want a standard gamepad."

You are clearly speaking for others.
Bad habit.

I'm not speaking for others, that's my opinion, if others agree then that's their choice. I really dislike motion gaming, I want a return to the N64 and Gamecube days of Nintendo

You said GAMERS, not "I as a gamer".

That was my whole point, it is an opinion. But the way you typed it, makes you speak for others as well.

Nooooo!

Exactly. The motion control was a gimmick!

2 screens for console games has the potential to be the most revolutionary thing since the gamepad.

Too bad it's been done before

Well, whatever it is that they do, we know that Sony will be watching and surprisingly will somehow copy the functionality for their next console.

but Ninty got it to business :) I think if Ninty wouldn't do it I doubt that Micro or Sony would do that in the future..

LOL A Powerful console with updated 3 symmetrical cores + GPU @900mhz with shder model 4.1 support, will only have wii Remote and nunchuck???

If that happens then, it will be Dead on arrival.
It will be too bad not only for Developers but for the gamers, cause that Wii remote will hold back the developers that want to put RPG games and FPS on console LOL.

And I will not be surprise if that Wii 2 will have a Final Fantasy 13 port because of it's superior architecture hardware, well if they use a Gamepad..

RPG games did fine with wii-mote.
Plus they are allowed to implement GAMEPADS.
FPS games work brilliantly with the IR, it just depends if its your cup of tea. But its not "holding" anything back.

i'd like to see both. FPS are great with motion controllers take a look at killzone 3,Socom,The Conduit 1 and soon too be 2. I'm not so sure on 3rd person games even tho i no theres sum great ones out there like re4 and even 5. i just can't see games like uncharted working well with it but i think they need to give you both and i think nintendo will go that route this time at release.

I think you can bet with 100% that they will offer both at launch. If the rumors about the Wii HD are true then I'll need to sell off my old Wii and some games so I can have enough money. If they actually have a system that is more powerfull than a 360 or PS3 and if they can keep the price at say $350 or $400 then I'm sold. I'm a PC gamer and I would have to say I want a Wii HD more than I want a PS3.
