Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War Screenshots

New screens for Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War are up on FileFront and they don't look too bad actually. Being a fan of the strategy genre I am happy to see more games leaning towards a more medieval flair and away from fantasy and feudal Japan. This particular one takes place in the 14th century, and if you paid attention in history class, you will know that this is when the long winded battle between England and France ensued. In Bladestorm, Joan of Arc and Edward the Black Prince will be part of the cast as you and your mercenaries/soldiers react individually to your immediate surroundings - thanks to a new game engine. Players will assume the role of a mercenary leader and strategically command, in real-time, a wide range of troops including infantry, archers, cavalry, and cannoniers. Sounds like fun to me. Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War will be available for the PS3 and the Xbox 360 the later part of this year.

honestly, this game is crap. i downloaded the demo and was expecting a hack and slash like dynasty warriors, but lo and behold, you couldn't even mash one button for fun. it required thinking, not something i'm used to from a koei game

plus i'm not really a fan of the whole, "i'm leading a legion, they do as i button press" gameplay

Wait so you rather have a non challenging hack and slash rather than some thing that would provide a challenge? I got them demo and I think it is a good change of pace from all the other games coming out now.

I know this game is not for the masses. To each his own. But I got into this game. Don't get me wrong, I like hack/slash games aswell. But that doesn't mean I have to hate other types of genres.

at first i thought it was gonna be like TOTAL WAR series of even myth. I tried the demo, not my favorite type, interesting style nonetheless

Reminds me of the gameplay in Kingdom under Fire: The Crusades, which is interesting as we just got news on the latest KuF title today.

I rather enjoy this kind of tactical simulation -- command an entire army and not just swing a sword around. Nice change of pace.

Looks like another winner.
