iOS, Android gobbling Nintendo's share of portable game market

iOS and Android devices continue to chip away at the portable gaming market and Nintendo is feeling the pain, according to a new report from mobile analytics firm Flurry. The firm says that game sales on the two platforms have managed to explode between 2009 and 2010 while sales on portable game systems shrunk—so much that Flurry has begun referring to the DS as Mario's "burning platform.

the graph shows the psp diminishing too...
and nintendo doesn't really have much to fear with the release of the 3ds.

So in the same year that Nintendo announced a brand new console would be coming at the end of that year, the DS stopped selling games? Well that's quite obvious isn't it?

Nintendo has a huge library of first party exclusives, so I don't really think that they should be threatened by the Android or iOS.Long time Nintendo fans will gobble up a new console to get their routine fix of mario,zelda,donkey kong and the likes.
