Valve just announced the playtime for Portal 2.
I hope the game gets unlock by 2morrow! welcome to steam ps3 players!
Article says 2.5 to 3 times as long as the first game. Save people reading the poorly translated article.
So pretty much the same thing they've been saying for months.
Its on the PS blog, just look at the "every portal question answered" post. They said about 3 times as long for SP and twice as long for Co-op. Took me a little under 2 hours to beat the first so I estimate 6-10 hours for both SP and Co-op, thats not too bad I guess.
Two hours to beat Portal the first time? It takes 20 minutes to navigate the last level alone...and that's knowing the level pixel by pixel.
I recently played Portal again, and I was surprised at how short it was. I beat it in about an hour and a half, but I've dumped over 24 hours into Portal (including mods). I often use it as a jumpstart for my brain before I start programming.
Thanks. +bubble (helpful)
Yeah if you cant beat Portal in 3 hours....then well Portal 2 might last you a couple days....
Awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee e!!!!!!!! :D I was late to join the Portal party but I loved the first one so much...
Thanks, as I didn't want to click the "Translate" link.
I love how 4 people disagreed with me. I know I beat it in less than 1.5 hours because I did it on my lunch break.
Is Steam InGame Only or will there be a Side app like Netflix or something, and i Love Team Fortress 2 on my PS3 but is there any way to play it with Bots Offline, will it be trash in 2 years if they pull the Servers Down?
Don't expect TF2's servers to EVER go down. Team Fortress 2 is still alive and strong on the PC, although the console versions are like a dead shell of the far superior PC version.
You start it when the game boots up. Being Valve the servers will probably never go down anytime soon since they dont need server space for any other games anyways.
Is there a way to play DC universe offline also? I really wanted it but at the time i thought i was going to get Laid Off and that subscription feee.. And now im just waiting for them to release a Newer Pressed Disk with all the Updates put on it
Thanks! I'm setting up my steam account today!!!!
yeah They updated steam on PC yesterday! One of the updates was about ps3 & psn..
and every minute's gonna be gold :)
"Portal 2 is about two and a half to three times as long as its predecessor" Awesome!
I've never played portal , can anyone tell me does it have a story to it ?
It has a great story. Its about an evil AI that tries to kill you in all these puzzles. Its absolutely hilarious with political doublespeak and really witty lines. It's pretty much the main draw to the game for me.
In portal you play a person that is in an experiment ran by a computer. To get to the next level you need to solve puzzles using a portal gun that allows you to shoot two portals on walls. When you pass though one portal you come out of the other one. One problem is the computer that is running the experiment is trying to kill you! However, if you pass the experiments you get cake! A quote from the game: "The Enrichment Center promises to always provide a safe testing environment. In dangerous testing environments, the Enrichment Center promises to always provide useful advice. For instance, the floor here will kill you. Try to avoid it."
Theres no real story to portal. But the story is the best part lol.
The above posters are right. But it also has a story that ties with black mesa from half life. This is evident from the songs and some posters you find through out the game, specially the last levels. It's not the main story, but at least we know it's part of the Half life universe.
Yeah and at the end of Half Life 2: Episode 2 they were going to investigate something related to Aperture Science (I won't spoil anything) so I'm hoping this game will tie the two series' together a bit more.
I can only imagine that this game will take me 4-5 hours longer than the average gamer to complete
I don't remember my time on my original run, but I remember a year after I beat Portal I replayed it and beat it in 1 1/2 hours, so 4 1/2 hours single player with a 3 hour co-op on my second play through.
three times longer? so three arcade games in a blue-ray?
Most multiplats dont even use half the size of a blu ray disc..
i don't understand... article says: In an interview, then said Project Lead author Joshua Weier and Erik Wolpaw of the use of Steam, trophies and USB keyboard and mouse but.... after it says: In the interview, the two Valve employees now confirmed that it will NOT be able to play with a USB keyboard and mouse to the Playstation 3 WTF!??
Poor translation, it is probably more along the lines of "In the interview we asked them about the use of USB keyboards and mouses, and they confirmed it would not be supported."
So with the guy who completed portal in under 10 minutes, the game will last around 30 minutes? That BS! xD j/k hehe
Will there be move Support, it would be pretty awesome , as killzone Was a twitch crazy before you get killed but this game was sorta relaxing for me very simple , only thing i sort of dislike was Puzzles that needed to have hole Made while you were flying through one, i failed alot , how bout a Super Huge Portal for Sucky People so they can miss the jump
killzone's not a twitch shooter
So that's about 6-10 hours for the single player and way longer than it should take for the coop because I'll probably spend too much time screwing around.
That's how I spent my playtime with the first one =)
Pre ordered the PS3 version today, because I love Portal, I want the 3.60 fw (cuz I haven't touched my PS3 since the 3.56) and then Steamworks..:D..:D
