Dan and Bob from GigaBoots.com check out on the rail flying shooter Yar's Revenge. Somewhere between Panzer Dragoon and Sin & Punishment, Yar's Revenge has plenty of throwbacks to the original Atari game and plenty of style to go with it.
Well, one thing I can say is definitely wrong with it is the story in text. Is this is going to be a PSN/XBLA title largely involving shooting things, the last thing I want to deal with is freakin *TEXT*! Panzer Dragoon delivered a story with little to none, and right now this looks like it has more story and text dialog than Sega - and that was the RPG of the series! If there's not an option to disable "cutscenes" forget this mess.
To compare a downloadable title on productions values with a full $50 game from last gen is a bit unfair. The cost of getting decent voice actors would've probably made them cut budget elsewhere. The text going while trying to see what's on-screen is a real problem though. Perhaps they should've allowed the player to hit a button to scroll further in the dialogue.
You're misinterpreting what I'm saying. This is typical Westernized anime in that it has to have some deep and reaching story that's talked to death instead of simply allowing the animation to do the job.
