You should get it for PS3, because you can play with PC, PS3, and Mac gamers, all through CO-OP on steam because it's now cross platform. Plus the PS3 version of Mortal Kombat has Kratos. How can you possibly pass that up?

Would he be playing alone? Really? Because as far as I know you can play online with anyone who has a PSN ID. I don't know a single person who's that thick that they would buy a game with less content for the same amount of money just because they can play online with their friends. If I want to play with my friends I'll invite them over in person.

I could sell Mortal Kombat for $50 on half.com. I sell new games all the time for that price. Its a good way to sell games I've barely played and make off like a bandit. Compare $50 to the $30 you might get from Gamestop. I would also be selling the $50 gift card.

All in all I would purchase the deal for $120 plus tax and end up paying only $20-$25 for Portal 2 after I sold the gift card and MK. Math fail on my part, but win.

Its a great deal no doubt but I dont really mind the 5 dollar bonus difference in Amazon and ToysRUs- Amazon has free shipping and no tax.

I cringe at the thought of buying two $60.00 games at retail price. I'm just sticking with Mortal Kombat.

With both titles clocking in at 59.99 your subtotal would be 119.98. Would you still qualify for the credit if you need $120 worth (stores love technicalities like that)? Might have to throw a pack of gum on there or something.
Also, can you provide SOME kind of proof other than an Examiner article? (Like how this article shows a TRU circular with the deal on it)

The original deal was that you just need to spend $120 and get the $50 card so it did not have to be Portal 2 as your second game. They also said there was 1200 MSP cards half off which counted towards the $120. Personally, I just want MK but we'll have to see what other retailers do before Monday to make me go somewhere else.
