If they had a option in the server lobby to select the amount of snipers, while it wouldn't be conventional it would definitely solve the problem of balancing :) want 0 snipers per team? just select it!
I kind of have to agree but aren't you getting sick and tired of the WAY the info comes to us? We get this constant dripping tap thing where we get a little snippet EVERY day from DICE!! One day a little bragging and the next a bit of info on maps or a feature. I just wish they'd give us more in one place and not keep on with the seemingly daily soundbites.
Might just be me but it seems, every day, there's either EA or DICE saying something incredible or controversial about BF3 and I'd rather have a proper information blow out than feel they were playing a daft game.
no , i like this way , war games don't spoile anything , i just want to know if it's good or not , i know it's good but not for my brothers , they only play cod and my big brother is playing it right now , because the gameplay is fast , simple and fun but battlefield is too big , you run alot and kill less people and the gameplay feels a little heavy for no reason even though my brothers only use assault rifles and grenades ,that's it , that's why my brothers don't like it... im not trolling or anything , they don't like killzone 3 - medal of honor - crysis 2 ...etc they still prefer to play cod...
it's just a game not a sim or anything , they should make the player less heavy , we want to have fun playing , we are not learning how to fight for wars or anything... games for fun..
Well soldiers carry alot of crap. IF you are not heavy walking or sprinting on the battlefield you are not playing a game with realism at all. It is only in Arcady games you find super fast motions.
I've only played the bad company spinoff series but are there like mortar strikes or something on bf like that??Cuz if there is i found my weapon against snipers.
If they do things the way they did in Bad company 1 where the maps were bigger and people used the vehicles more, because the game was more focused around tanks, boats, hum-Vs, light armor vehicles and helecopters unlike BC2 where the maps were much smaller and the focus was more on being a foot soldier in smaller maps.
BF2 had each map in 3 different sizes, and they were dependent on server size. So A server hosting 16 or fewer players would play on a scaled down version, adding 10 players would bump you up to medium map size, and 48 or more, you'd get the full scale map. With each version, control points would expand to spread out the warfare, God, I loved BF2, can't wait for BF3! *Squirt!*
Am soooo CONFUSED on whether to get the PC or PS3 version If BF3 turns out like Crysis 2 then i will be really disappointed, what i mean there is Cheaters/Hackers
I bought Crysis 2 knowing that it was going to be a shit game anyway but i wanted to test the capabilities of my PC, i decided to play some MP since i was abit bored but boy oh boy! Hackers on the 2nd day of release or so? WTF?
I learned my lesson from Crysis 1 on PC. I was so excited when I first got it for PC I jumped into multiplayer...only to find all this C4 all over the place in my first match turns out this hacker dumped over 40 C4 explosives all over the place, jumped in a jeep then dove the jeep into the ocean. He then detonated all the C4 at once killing everyone on the map....after that I knew that Crysis 2 on the PC was going to be like. Crytek was unresponsive to the hackers and helpless just like Crysis 2 will be. Get the Xbox version or Ps3 do yourself a favor if you get the PC version wait till it goes down and play the singleplayer.
You will be disappointed with the multiplayer version of it.
Crysis2's multiplayer infrastructure was broken on release. You're going to get hackers and douche-bags when anyone can join a match by using a pirated copy. That, and I'm not even sure if it even has admin tools.
DICE has been doing a good job with security with BadCompany2... even though I'm not that big of a fan of punkbuster.
Hey, Care to Bubble me? or else this would be my last comment on this section lool
If BF3 security is as good as you say then i would definitely grab the PC version but i saw several videos of Bad Company 2 being hacked, Now a days almost anyone with good hacking capabilities can hack into a game
Most "hackers" have no "hacking capability" whatsoever (love that, sounds like Napoleon Dynamite). Most of them buy aimbots and wallhacks online. I could almost respect a player who had created his own hack, but these days, hackers are just losers who get off on ruining the experience for others.
Saying similar above. I'm a bit tired of the way we hear from them EVERY sodding day! I get it-they think the game's going to be amazing and I tend to think they're right but they risk making people think it's going to be the Jesus of FPS and make expectations go through the roof to some place they can never be reached by the actual game.
Yes, EA and DICE, it's looking GREAT but don't make it out to be more than it is or make everyone sick of you all before it drops, please.
This confirms the game as a no buy for me. Though I might rent it. Large maps promote camping, I can already imagine not being able to even fire a weapon and just getting picked off from God knows where and then running all the way back..... I much prefer smaller to medium range maps, especially in a 12 v 12 matchplay.
Depends where you spawn and what the lines of sight are like. A big map with towers at either end and a p[lain in between with each team spawning at an end each and, sure, you're getting campfest 2011.
However, depending on spawns and lines of sight being variable enough to support all manner of gameplay we shouldn't worry unduly-we'll also have vehicles to consider when assessing map size success AND what the destructible environments do to both lines of sight AND in rooting out snipers themselves before worrying that they'll overrun the game.
The other concern(where you have to run miles or for minutes before finding an enemy)should be moot also-DICE aren't novices at this and you'd imagine they're well capable of putting spawns in the right places and making sure maps naturally encourage a few action areas and choke points by making certain places important to bossing a round or whatever.
We'll find, anyway, that those maps which fail to do this won't get played a lot.
I'm not confusing it with anything, 12 players per team is not that much larger then 9 per team which is what the max is on COD games.
Even 12 players per team doesn't justify huge freaking maps. With every new BF3 article they are pushing themselves farther and farther away from me as a console gamer and as a tactical FPS gamer.
Largest =/= Good. But if we don't have to spend 5+ minutes running from the spawn to the frontlines then it should turn out to be good. Personally I would much rather Dice keep the maps a manageable size for ground combat and then have the air expanded much larger. I don't care if a map is 5x5 miles when it could be half the size of that and would be plenty.
OH wow...that's all we need more bush wookies that can hide in an endless battlefield of debris and buildings.....
If they don't limit the Snipers in BF3 I'm not buying it and so won't many others, just go into the official EA forums for BF and you can see how snipers are just ruining this game, well them and bunnyhopping medics with the M60....you guys want to take down COD sorry COD is mainstream popular with the kiddos something BF is not....
Hardcore BF players would tell you that's just how they like it..... But DIce and EA CEo's don't care they want to target the mainstream video gamer to sell BF3 not gonna happen, COD has got a stranglehold on the FPS industry about the only other FPS that can compete with COD is Halo franchise which is way better than the BF series..sorry but it's true Fanboys suck it.
i just wish for once they don't make america not the heros , atleast put different names and looks , it's just a game...
big maps are always better for the people , that's great news but not for console players because the maps will be smaller and the players will be less so this is only for pc... and i wish if they make planes , i love the planes in battlefield in the psn ...
Id be cool if they had 1 map available in 3 different sizes. I love the big maps just hot BF2 implemented map area availability. I just hope its not 1 big ass map like the Battlefield 1942. Who want to travel across an entire map just to get sniped or killed by a camper.
Please limit snipers per team.
Awesome. This game just gets better and better as more details come out
I've only played the bad company spinoff series but are there
like mortar strikes or something on bf like that??Cuz if there is i found my weapon against snipers.
on pc , the console maps in bf3 won't be as big as the maps on pc bf2 i doubt
Let's just hope they don't feel empty on consoles...
