GameSpot: Unreal Tournament III Graphics Settings Preview

The Unreal Tournament 3 demo snuck onto the net early this morning. GameSpot quickly downloaded and installed the game to check out Epic's latest Unreal Engine 3 showcase:

"The demo doesn't offer a whole lot of video settings, but we did find World Detail, Texture Detail, and Post Processing effects options while exploring the settings menu. We took all of our screenshots on Heat Ray and Shangri La.

We found that the World Detail option did a little more than "change the detail of world geometry in-game" as the menu tooltip suggests. Shifting the setting from 1 to 2 changed the lighting and added a soft blur effect in our Shangri La test. Extra geometry started appearing on windows and other surfaces at level 3. We also noticed that our weapon gained self-shadowing when we moved up to level 4."

I tested the game on a HP pavilion.
Nvidia go 6150
AMD Turion 64 X2
959 MB Ram
Terrible! absoulutely terrible. I'm going to be testing on a desktop next without Vista. I'll let you know what I discover.

this game runs really well, even on a middle good pc.
Epic has always been superior when it comes to programing.

i just home it runs great at my pc:
AMD Athlon 64 2,4 Ghz 4600+
nVidia 7950GX2
2gb ram.

i want a better prossesor, and maybe a G-force 8800 card... but nvidia are currently working on something bigger, so one should wait

It seems like they dumbed down the settings for SOME reason compared to UT2k4. That and they took out dodging, double jumping, dodge jumping, dodge double jumping, and the wall jumping :/
