Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios: A Taste of What’s to Come

PS Blog:

I’m excited to announce that this week you’ll be seeing new information popping up on the PlayStation.Blog and through the gaming media offering sneak peeks at some of our biggest titles launching in 2011.

As a preview to our biggest industry conference—E3—we’re conducting a media tour this week featuring early looks at some of this year’s most-anticipated PlayStation 3 titles: inFAMOUS 2, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, Resistance 3, Twisted Metal, and UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception. We’re inviting several of our media partners to get a firsthand look at new content and information from each of the titles, and we’ll be sharing what we show them on the PlayStation.Blog starting tonight and throughout the next week.

It's gonna be a damn good (and expensive) year

callahan092435d ago

Wow, I've already gotten Killzone 3, LittleBigPlanet 2, and MLB 11 The Show this year from Sony. And still coming this year they're going to bring new games for Ratchet & Clank, Resistance, Uncharted, Twisted Metal, MotorStorm, White Knight Chronicles, and Socom? Out of control.

They are making too many games in one year. It's like I have to buy a Sony game every month, not including the multiplats I want as well as other console exclusives.

I've already bought LBP2, KZ3, Mvs.C3, and Crysis 2.

Now I have to make it through a busy May, pick InFamous 2 up in June (early B-Day present please), pick up titles I skipped over in July and August, then get ready to be completely swamped for the remainder of the year. Thank goodness for gamefly, and Redbox (for short single player only games, or just to try it out $2 a day adds up quick).

covering every genre except for JRPGs.

Here's hoping that Sony reveal some JRPGs for the PS3 and NGP at E3.

A new Wild Arms and a new Legend of Dragoon. Or the next Dark Cloud, a Play-Create-Share RPG maker.

Gonna have to give up eating this year... which is gonna be doubly hard to stomach while not getting none because the wife is pissed I'm buying/playing too much games!

Something is wrong when you're half rooting for a layoff, just so you have time to play all the games releasing!

Sony's almost got all the genres covered... except for rpg's. I wanna see what a western Sony 1st party can do in the action rpg genre.

every year they say it's their biggest year lol... I gotta say most years i get excited about e3 then when it's all over i feel somewhat disappointed... I mean these games are ace and all but i don't really wanna know too much about them, i like to be suprised, also each year i'm expecting some extra features and they rarely do :-( i'm just gonna keep my expectations low from now on and hope that i'm pleasantly suprised lol.

I HATE E3 these days. The build up starts before Xmas with fanboys from all over claiming riches beyond belief from their chosen platform holder come next June. Why? I think it's the odd, pointless notion that we, somehow, have to find a "winner" at E3 every year. Naturally, MS, Sony, Ninty or whoever MIGHT have a mess of a show but if they all do decently, as is the norm, it's enitrely down to taste which is entirely subjective and goes directly against any possibility of agreeing someone "won" what amounts to a massive industry junket to imreass the media.

Add to this the arguments over it, the leaks, the rumours(my God the months of endless sodding rumours)and all the time and money wasted dragging half the world's devs and game writers to E3 and LA(which MUST be better spent, y'know, making games?)and you might start to see just why I find it frustrating.

I also feel the need to "win" E3 makes devs and platform holders make promises they don't know they can keep just t have a good show and stay "in the running". Things like games that never appear, unrealistic release hopes because of an E3 showing, games "shown" with a mere logo or similar, outrageous promises for hardware and peripherals that NEVER materialise-I put most of that down to this daft E3 race and, really, does it make ONE bit of difference outside of fanboy rants and the egos of the higher ups at those companies concerned?

OR I may just be a massive killjoy-whatever, my days of giving two shits about it are long gone.

snaz272435d ago (Edited 2435d ago )

I agree, i've never cared who won, i've never really seen it that way, but i will admit i've been sucked in by some of the rumours from time to time and that could be why i feel somewhat disappointed. . . but really i just want to hear about new improvements to the system, new features etc, the games to me are a given, and we hear so much about them already, i don't feel e3 is really needed for that. edit. . . just to clarify new games we've never heard of is cool with me, i just don't wanna know too much about games we know are coming.

"I HATE E3 these days."

What?

I LOVE E3, especially last year. Last year's E3 was so funny. So many GIF moments. LOL.

syanara2434d ago

there is an up side to that though as well

With so much competition and hype for E3 the publishers will feel more compelled to deliver more amazing games. This constant push near E3 is great IMO.

however the fanboy wars that ensue because of E3 are really where the good things come to an end

stuntman_mike2434d ago

I totally agree mastiffchild, what's all this winning E3 about I don't understand it. its just a place to show new games there is no winning involved, I watch it to see what new games will be coming out soon (and hopefully be surprised). as for the conferences weather their bad or not is just down to personal preference (and people getting their hopes too high). I'm looking forward to E3 as I do every year and I don't let the hype media or the nay sayers spoil it for me.

Hell of a year. Uncharted 3, Oblivion, BF3, Twisted metal. All within a month...just shoot me.

HeavenlySnipes2435d ago

want to shoot you. Don't worry, I'm coldhearted enough to do it :)
