A look at the Motorstorm series | Mad Overdose

MadOverdose.com writes: I’ve always considered Motorstorm one of my most favorite racing series of all time. It’s not perfect by any means, and there’s still plenty of room for improvement – but it’s adrenaline pumping gameplay chocked full of dramatic thrills and over the top gameplay combined with the most simplistic of racing mechanics make the franchise not only exciting, but also extremely accessible and enjoyable for both newcomers and veterans alike. It’s in complete contrast to the realism and simulation based driving found in series such as Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport, and while I enjoy both series, sometimes I just have that urge to drive off the edge of an erupting volcano, or ram an ATV off a mountain cliff with a big rig – and this is where Motorstorm doesn’t just deliver, it does it with impeccable style. (MotorStorm, Motorstorm Arctic Edge, MotorStorm: Apocalypse, Motorstorm:Pacific Rift, PS2, PS3, PSP)

for some weird reason i never bought any MS games
but this latest one i am looking forward to. whenever i tried the demo it felt like there was a steep learning curve?

hopefully i will be able to enjoy MS when it comes out or maybe i should import it from Europe

I ordered my copy from a place in the UK called 'The Hut'. My invoice shows not only have they dispatched it - but that delivery was £0.00! The price of the game was cheap too, £32.99!

motorstorm games are just a big heap of chaotic fun.

im waaaaay to strapped for cash at the moment to get Apocalypse but will ASAP

i have fond memories being blown away by the physics and track wear etc back in good old '07

ppl can pull the "ps3 haz no gamez" crap from then all they want but i had an absoloute blast with Resistance FOM, motorstorm and warhawk =)

The author should maybe have waited until he had the latest game to comment on it. It's a bit like when GT did retrospectives before a new game in the series came out... meaning it was out dated within a month.

But the article is still exactly what it says on the tin and i've completed Apocalypse and it's great, feels very different to the others though. Also it's a Shame only about 50% of the tracks have stuff exploding when I felt that was the whole point, but oh well.
