TRIBUTE: Socom Forever!

Its a very sad time in the video game industry as every kid on the block owns a copy of Call Of Duty and claims COD is the greatest shooter since sliced bread. I personally think COD is a great shooter and in its own right is king in certain areas but Seriously, where were all these knuckle heads when the game that acutaully laid out the blue print was around. Yes, Socom set the standard when it was first released back in 2002? In many ways it has yet to be beaten....

COD has basically become a run and gunner game while Socom still is your tactical, team base type of game.

Socom 4 doesn't resemble anything from the old Socoms other than the fact its a TPS. From what I played during the beta, they made the game more like MAG/CoD to please the casual players. The addition of the MOVE is a joke too, and just reinforces the fact that zipper is aiming at the casual market. Anyone who loved Socom in the past and who played in the Beta, knows this isn't Socom. I will not be supporting this garbage game. Looks like I'll have to wait and see what the next Ghost Recon is like so that I can get my tactical TPS fix.

yea over a life you can say that about many many things... If you really get into Socom this will be the one in 10 years that you will miss and say "I MISS THE OLD SOCOM DAYS"

The Socom 4 Beta has been fun for me and a lot of others....the newest edition of Qore on the PSN shows a lot of the singleplayer and coop that we haven't had a chance to play and it looks like the game is going to be pretty tight....very excited about this game and can't wait for the 19th. No more greening up....at least for now....but, that means you don't have to wait on AFK knuckleheads anymore either......sort of nice actually

They really need to fix somethings and return
some of the old mechanics, I really don't know what's going on in the industry right now, but this is not an improvement on Socom, I don't know how they expect to be part run and gun part tactical, it's not working. Make the strafe faster in all modes, bring back the grenade arc, bring back lean, and for g#d sakes bring back custom games instead of doing all this matchmaking nonsense, learn a lesson from what killzone just went through.

It has essentially turned into a CoD/MAG TPS shooter. It has none of the features that the old Socoms had, and the two beta maps suck. Socom is a dead franchise.

Ah memories =D Back in the days the enemies used to be called terrorists. Hot gun needs to come back. Spent days on Socom.
