Only weeks from its release, Yakuza 4 for the PlayStation 3 gets an amazing $20 discount. You can get the game for only $39 with FREE Shipping.
Hell, it's worth $60, but this is a damn fine deal.
39$ for one of the GOTY. I know PS3 is not popular in the US, but american people should purshase this gem.
I agree. I have TWO Kuro Editions (One free and one brought). Gamers who were Sega fans back in the day should get this. This is a man's game (no joke), the game makes you feel like a pimp, gives you man tears (Yakuza 3 did more but the Taiga forced to kill bit was heart warming), the knee to the head violence, the pub mini games and more. Nagoshi-san the general director of the Yakuza series produced Super Monkey Ball and F Zero GX on the Gamecube. You should not miss this game.
Fun factor argumented with ARCADE flavor. One of the best game or franchise developped by SEGA on this generation.
@disturbing_flame So true. Yakuza 3 was my GOTY 2010 with what it delivered, I thought the game would be average but it surprised me (probably my favourite PS3 game). People that were dissapointed with FF XIII should of got Yakuza 3. PS3 owners who like Japanese games from the PS1/PS2 era should get this.
... but it's one of those games that's very good, but will probably be in the 'under 20 bucks' bargain-bins in 2 or 3 months time, so I can wait a while till it drops further in price...
I hear nothing but great things about this franchise. Should I start with Yakuza 3 before jumping into 4?
Get both because Yakuza 3 is pretty cheap plus Okinawa is not in Yakuza 4. You do get a recap of Yakuza 1, 2 and 3 in Yakuza 4.
Yes, with Yakuza 3 and 4 you have about 100 hours of gameplay awaiting for you in the next future, so be sure you'll have enough time this year to finish them. It's not that kind of game that you purshase to play it 5/6 hours and then sell it. When you will be into it you'll understand. Anyway, yes try Yakuza 3 first, it's a more decontracted game, i mean you're a yakuza wearing an hawaian shirt, but it doesn't mean you can't smash all punks face around you, it's a nice introduction, YAKUZA 4 is by far better but the ambiance of YAKUZA 3 and its summer flavor holyday is also great, good times.
if all else. i've played 2 hours of 4 and its pretty boring so far. I have a feeling though its about to get good!! All l know is 1 and 2 were way better (story wise) than 3. And 4 story is said to be the weakest
I would not recommend getting Yakuza 1. Along with loading times, the battle system is clunky. You are punching thin air most of the time. Holding R1 most of the time in battle is annoying, plus the boss battles get cheap later in the game. The story for Yakuza 1 is good. Part 2 in Yakuza 4 is much better than Part 1. The game gets interesting at the end of Part 1. EDIT: @jetlian I haven't completed Yakuza 4 (PS3 still not reading discs). Yeah Yakuza 2 had some good gangster story with good twists, not so much with Yakuza 3.
it is but like most games you will adjust. I beat 2 and 3 like a few months ago. Some of the best crime world stories ever. this new writer just isn't as good. 2 had that guy with the gun. good thing l got that 800k vest which helped on him
Have still got Yakuza 3 sat on my shelf unplayed. Really need to start it.
thats why i love me some amazon. *adds to cart*
Great deal. Finished it last week, all the substories too. Amazing charachters and world. A throwback to when a good game was a good game and no one cared about AAA, metacritic, NPD, DF/LOT or even political correctness. Movies can't even really show smoking anymore, but here someone's lighting up every other cutscene, lol. There's even a cigarette finisher and special alcohol fuelled takedowns. Solid Snake would be proud.
