Battlefield 3 Trailer Meets Inception

Rob Keyes of Game Rant writes, "Electronic Arts and DICE have successfully managed to create and market a game that is easily on everyone’s most anticipated games of 2011 lists. Thanks in large part to the ‘Fault Line’ series of trailers for Battlefield 3, the game has jumped up to being one of the hottest first person shooters of the most crowded year of Triple-A FPS games ever.

What could raise excitement for Battlefield 3 even more? Mixing it with the epic score for Christopher Nolan’s mind-bending Inception, obviously." (Battlefield 3, Inception, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

deadpoole  +   780d ago
That was seriously cool ... I really liked that.
moeqawama  +   780d ago
Yeah that was pretty freakin sweet, wow
inveni0  +   780d ago
Not too shabby. Weird how people find this stuff...like playing Pink Floyd during The Wizard of Oz.
NiKK_419  +   780d ago
whetting not wetting lol

OT: it's kinda fitting, i guess

@below
i hate those online passes from EA
i use gamefly so it's like having it used unless you pay to keep it, then you get all the stuff (including the codes)

i do, however, like them because they support the developers, but i just wish they would do something different for people who use gamefly (like maybe give gamefly special discs that include the online, or just give each user that rents it their own code (that could only be used once)

good thing i'm just gonna buy this though

Don't fit. Seriously, the horns come in at the wrong time and the song itself is epic and fast-paced. So letting the song play while u camp does not fit at all.

Btw, I'm glad Zack Hemsey's epic is being recognized by the world. Best film of all time.

Nikk419, agreed...

I don't use Gamefly...but have been considering it for a while...plus with fairly strong rumors that when blockbuster final takes the full dump, Netflix is going to buy up their game licensing contracts...and start offering games like gamefly does...

And something does need to be addressed for those situations...but I am pretty certain companies aren't exactly thrilled by that either...its to the point where the entertainment industries simply don't like 'renting' anymore...they just want every single person to buy the game new...never let anyone else ever use it...and never resell it...that is fine and great with me, but just like all forms of entertainment...90% of what is released is crap compared to the great stuff...and not worth buying...

I like that EA is taking the initiative to do something about Gamestops backwards logic for used game sales...but sadly I think game pricing is still completely mucked up beyond just used games being sold...

I'm borrowing Dead Space 2 from a friend...and have to pay to play it online simply because I didn't buy it new?...not the best example as that game doesn't really have anything to offer multiplayer wise, but I would at least check it out if i could...

Agreed, the music works perfectly with Assassin's Creed Brotherhood trailer
IcarusOne  +   779d ago
If you lag the music by 3 - 5 seconds, it's eerie how well it fits.
SmokeCheebah  +   779d ago
start the music when the vid hits 6 1/2, fits perfect.

This was awesome!

However my only 'mehs' with the battlefield 3 trailers so far are that unless the guys zoomed in the weapons look very small and unusually thin.. :s and when zoomed in there seems like a lack of recoil/feedback from the gun..

However still action packed and i'll be getting it day one xD every game has something that doesn't appeal to personal tastes
Lich120  +   779d ago
Im not a gun expert, but most people I've talked to who have fired M4s and other modern assault rifles say there is little to no kick at all. The devs for dice also take trips to fire off the guns so that they can personally get to feel what its like to fire one. So I don't know if the lack of kick is entirely wrong.

I do agree though that the guns seem a little skinny... could have something to do with the FoV they're using so that you can see the players arms and legs at various points.

Edit: I just re-watched the video and the gun was belt feed so yeah... seems like a gun like that would have a ton more kick than what was shown.

Im guessing combining the audio was to much work for them?
Dart89  +   780d ago
Will this have online pass??
GnarleySquid  +   780d ago
EA hasn't confirmed that Battlefield 3 will have an online pass yet, but it's expected.
Crazyglues  +   780d ago
Yes of-course... it is EA's new thing to fight used game sales (GameStop and stores like that are hurting the publishers because they don't see any money from those sales), as long as you buy it brand new you have nothing to worry about..

you get your code in the Case, we should be supporting companies like this who are making amazing games and going above and beyond to push gaming on the consoles..

Especially the commitment they have made in the PS3 being one of the first developers to invest hard on learning the PS3's tech. in-order to make equal games, and this year with BF3 it looks like they are really going to push the system.

This a quality Developer, and I will always come out for DICE hands down... Day One Purchase..

"easily on everyone’s most anticipated games of 2011 lists." This is my opinion, but it hasn't made my list yet. You still have to compete with Arkham City, L.A. Noire, and Skyrim. Sorry EA (;

Inception mashups = awesome

I Did something like this with the killzone 3 trailer awhile back.

Quite impressive. I am really looking forward to this one.
KeiserSosay4788  +   779d ago
Am I the only one who thought Inception was supremely overrated as a film just because it "looked cool"???

OT: Pretty ridiculous how well they line up...
El_Colombiano  +   779d ago
I think you're just that "cool guy" who wants to hate what people enjoy.
KeiserSosay4788  +   779d ago
I understand what you're saying but, I just thought the plot was overcomplicated for no reason followed by the actors questions(lines) to pull the audience along an otherwise completely meaningless plot. It's almost like they overcomplicated the dream within a dream idea (which is cool) just to make your head hurt...you know...because it doesn't make any sense. Plus, it was sort of ripped from The Cell...

Well if anything I think it got a massive following because of Nolan, not just because it was a great movie...if it was from a different director, i bet there wouldn't have been nearly as many 'zomg! b3st movie EVAR11!' flying around last summer...

but I didn't think it 'looked cool'...It had a cool style and everything, but for the most part it wasn't way over the top in special effects or anything...

great movie...but it wasn't the best movie i have ever seen or anything...just a really good story that keeps you thinking after for a while...hard to do these days...

I clicked agree BTW, because of an actual response...unlike El Assumption
sp1deynut  +   779d ago
Nope....I felt the same way.
In fact, I felt the exact same way about The Dark Knight, ironically.... Avatar as well.

It's similar to the Call of Duty effect....sheeple will flock to whatever is hot and popular, time and time again. There's no rhyme or reason for those movies to have grossed the inane $$ they did...especially TDK and Avatar.
peowpeow  +   779d ago
Beautiful movie perhaps?
Kleptic  +   774d ago
this is an old post, but need to put it up anyway...

can't agree...at all...on TDK...but totally hated Avatar...

TDK was what i've wanted a comic book movie to change into since I was a kid...I always loved batman, and ALWAYS wanted a universe of it to make it even more believable...as in...he doesn't have super powers...he isn't overly special...he is just boner rich with an agenda...and that his own actions have such a ridiculous effect on the city that it makes enemies behave more like him, just with the opposite agenda...loved batman begins and TDK for that exact reason...

I see what you mean though...Ledger died, and before that a pile of people didn't even know that it was him as the joker...even after seeing the first action trailers...

but Avatar was junk...one liners that were played out even by 80's standards (a lot of which cameron was responsible for in the first place)...an interesting idea (the avatar thing) twisted by this ridiculous military vs. tree hugger thing that would never happen...

So so, you could have at least combined the video and audio - asking people to press play on two separate videos which aren't exactly in time is a bit sloppy.
SkyCrawler  +   779d ago
I'm on my phone atm. So could anyone tell me how this ties in with Inception. Thnx XD
