Turn 10’s Dan Greenawalt Reflects on the Past, Present and Future of the Forza Franchise

There aren’t many games for Microsoft that can literally sell themselves. Sure, Halo, Gears and Fable will continue to sell on name alone, but the truth is that their secret weapon of this generation has quite simply been their Forza franchise and its rapid rise to prominence. It wasn’t always plain sailing though and speaking with Turn 10’s Game Director yesterday, Dan Greenawalt, the creative lead reminisced on his and Turn 10’s time with the franchise. (Dan Greenawalt, Forza Motorsport, Forza Motorsport 2, Forza Motorsport 3, Forza Motorsport 4, Xbox 360)

Same here. Game is shaping up to be another great addition to the franchise. Interview was really good and a you do get it from the interview that Dan Greenawalt is really a car lover.

"For Greenawalt and Turn 10, it wasn’t just about being the best simulation out there, said the humble design director,"

I couldn't really go on reading after that blatant of a lie. Humble? Man that is bad. Anyways I did read on and it's not a bad read but come on..humble...really?

"Humble" is a word that doesn't belong on the same page as anything related to Turn 10, let alone the same sentence. They're the most arrogant and egotistical dev in the business today. I've never seen another company so fixated on claiming they're the best while showing a complete and utter lack of class in a constant barrage of verbal diarrhea against their competition.

That being said, I've played some Forza 3 and it's fine. I'm not a sim fan in the slightest, so I wasn't even really interested in playing it in the first place (GT5 either). The thing is that it's kinda stuck in limbo between sim and arcade. I suck at real sims. I was pretty decent at Forza 3.

First time I have heard Dan Greenawalt described as a "humble design director", humble?

That's like saying Cliffy B. is humble.
