I don't feel it was too far, just stupid. If anything it makes me want the game less, much like the horrible dialogue in the Bulletstorm demo. I'm all for humor and jokes but in both of these instances it isn't funny.
I'm on the other hand much more interested as the other stale "serious" game characters are erm... boring to me.
Babe mode sounds awesome! ... and no I don't think it is demeaning, because who takes that serious? People really need to stop getting their b*lls hung up on the smallest things.
I'm not offended by babe mode either. If people are offended by babe mode, they should stop watching movies, tv and stop playing games. Basically go live in a cave and don't expose yourself to the real world.

If you listen/watch the trailer it plays out like "you" the player are forcing duke to play with shit as he says "Please!, no!" When he drinks from the fountain and "What am I doing?" when he first picks it up. It's all meant to be humorous.

I think this game is probably gonna suck big balls of steel. I love Duke 3D but this game looks like it was salvaged from the garbage bin. If it is good Ill be surprised and will play it for sure.

It sounds like you need to just keep playing your copy of Barbie Horse Adventure. Since when is lowbrow humor unacceptable in our hobby? It is EXACTLY what I like about it. It is not mainstream and candy-coated. Great things have made livings off of it. Look at Monty Python, and South Park, and even Jackass. I know all these things are below someone like yourself, but the rest of us bottomfeeders LOVE this kind of shit. Just let it be funny, and shut up!

I think that many early this gen's gamers would play or finish it because of puzzles and other stuff, that isn't COD (just shoot and "go go go!") :) this trailer is great, it reminds that games have to be fun and entertaining, not just killing, blood and seriousness ... All this is is something you can CHOOSE to do in between gun fights/storyline/saving chicks etc... if you WANT to. You can pick up almost everything in this game. Throughout the whole DNF development they've said repeatedly that this game will have huge amounts of interactivity, most for fun and screwing around, but there is some that will be part of the game's progression. This is just a SMALL piece of what you will be able to do in DNF and this article is another example of this game taken way to seriously. This game knows its going to offend some people and it's obvious that it doesn't care...
