DTG: The Danger of Calling Videogames "Art"

"Are videogames art?" The question has been tossed around quite a bit as of late, what with Mr. Ebert swinging down his movie-critic gavel and declaring videogames as inferior to film and literature several years ago. Ever since, gamers have been passionately defending videogames as an art form. However, there are some rather important questions that gamers have neglected to ask.

If Movies, TV, Music & Books can be considered Art why not Video Games.

A game can trigger all of the emotions that any other those other forms of media can, i think the arguement derives from the history of the mediums.

Just like every other medium, Gaming has is fight on its hands to be recognized just like every other medium had to fight to be recognized.
