OXCGN’s Homefront Review: Home Is Where The Mediocrity Is

OXCGN:

"Ever since World War Two, media regarding the conflict (and most others) has, for the most part, been in the favor of the red, white and blue.

"Glorious America.

"Land of the free, home of the brave.

"In that sense, THQ and Kaos Studios’ Homefront screams of terrorism and anti-Americanism.

"Disappointingly, this occupation has little innovation." (Homefront, Kaos Studios, PC, PS3, THQ, Xbox 360) 7/10

Good review. Hit the nail on the head!

I feel like every other 5 hours or so another Homefront review comes out. My question is, is it really necessary?
Proeliator  +   789d ago
It's the same with every other game, ever. Each respective outlet gives their own views.

Yea, but do we really need 15 different reviews of the same game on the same website, its always irritated me not just with Homefront but just like u said ever other game, ever. I understand different reviews that focus on different parts of the games but when all the reviews are pretty much identical with the exception of 2-3 reviews, its pointless.

I like the game. I've only played MP though but I like games where when I shoot people the hits register regardless of latency.

Homefront has that down, whereas 'AAA' shooters like Call of Duty and Killzone 3 don't. Hit detection and netcode is much more important to me in a competitive environment than graphics and innovation.

I've heard the multi is better than the single player. I'm glad it's not another 'russia/middle east' terrorist hunt clone, but since my 'home' isn't USA, it kinda loses the intensity of home is where the war is....

I'm getting over shooters these days though...a bit too samey.

Wanted this bad for about a week but now I've forgotten about it and want Crysis 2

great game, single player is a little short but alot of fun. multiplayer is solid and battlepoints system feels satisfying and fresh. if you got the extra cash grab it, but make sure you try crysis 2 and killzone 3 games first as they are better quality shooters. good job Kaos studios.

7/10 =/= mediocre

The major downfall of the title is what it has been marketing: the campaign.

3 and a half hours of generic, scripted and linear action with uninteresting gameplay.

THAT's what the mediocre comes from.

The title chose to sell itself off of what became a crappy campaign; multiplayer does not embody the title.

Thusly, mediocre.

What I'm saying is that a 7/10 isn't the proper score for a mediocre game. A mediocre game is a 5.

5 is mediocre. 7 is above average. Does not compute.
