It’s time for some new IPs

Eurogamer published an article yesterday about new Fable, Halo, Gears, and Forza games. Many gamers might rejoice at this news as those are the four biggest 360-exclusive franchises out there. But gamers have been playing these same franchises for years. Where's the innovation? It's time for some new IPs!

I agree and how about some reboots of forgotten games like LOD?

@Xander you nailed it that's what i was referring to.

And i know sony has so many franchises they can revive.

@Tommy Exactly i think the biggest problem with the industry right now is most developers are making fps i mean come on there's already one that get's released yearly.

Why can't we have more like Yesteryears game's for some reason they seem so much fun than most games in today's market.

I'm assuming by your name that LOD = Legend of Dragoon? I would LOVE to see another! gillri also raises a good point with Heavy rain. I've noticed PS3 has been a bit better about this with games like LittleBigPlanet, Uncharted, and the revival of Killzone.

I also agree with NYC_Gamer. I mean these are good franchises, no doubt, but I'm just getting bored with buying the same games year in and year. Here's a new Halo. Here's a new CoD. Here's the next Final Fantasy.

I agree with most of what you say, but I would hardly say Sony "revived" Killzone this generation. Killzone 1 came out at the end of 2004 and KZ2 followed just over 4 years later.

I'm not even gonna mention how many times I've asked for a Legend of Dragoon sequel/reboot from Sony. They'd have to have a new team though. The old team broke up, some of which worked on Lost Odyssey (another underrated RPG).

OMG that game is legendary I would kill for a remake.

indeed

Heavy rain did it, Enslaved tried it, Mirrors edge tried ,but both of those failed in terms of sales

Yes! I agree so damn much!
Biggest problem in the industry right now. But there should be some new franchises around the corner. Quantic Dream, Respawn, Bungie and Insomniac are likely to make a new franchise or two in the near future.

I'd love to go through a whole calendar year without a single sequel/spin-off being released, just to see what would happen.
